#1097 of 2127 Thinking of selling my 2003 RAV4 (4,000 miles) by shelby16

Dec 01, 2003 (8:56 am)

Purchased a new 2003 Toyota RAV 4 three mos. ago(Color Vintage Gold, 2 wheel drive, all power, 100,000 miles transferrable extended warranty, automatic, outstanding condition). Have 4,000 miles thereon. It is a beautiful vehicle but it is simply too large for me (had a compact 2 door Honda Civic previously). Can anyone recommend the best way to sell, newspaper ads can be pricey. Live in Tinley Park, Illinois. Thanks in advance.

#1099 of 2127 2004 dashboard rattle by wsommariva

Toyota says there's no TSBs on the 2004. I made an appointment for my rattle and the delaer didn't say anything about it being a problem. BTW, my wife has a 2002 RAV4, no rattle in the dashboard. I hope they fix it because it drives me crazy.

#1100 of 2127 gas nozzle shuts off by nancy13

Dec 02, 2003 (6:14 am)

I have a '02 RAV-L that is driving me nuts when I try to fill it with gas. The pump nozzle shuts itself off after just a few drops of gas come out. I tried inserting the nozzle all the way in and backing it up a bit but it still would not pump gas. Has anyone else run into this problem and have a solution? This happens to me all the time.

I was so angry last evening...I tried two different pumps at the convenience store (neither one worked)...and it was freezing cold outside. I was not a happy camper.

I used to see that gas pump complaint on the Hyundai Sante Fe board often, but I don't think I've seen it here for the RAV.
Not common, I don't think.
Good luck sorting it out.

Nancy13,
Take your Rav to a (good)Toyota dealer and have them look at it. There is a Technical Service Bulletin: # EG008-02 for the fuel tank vent hose. That could be the problem. Let us know what you find out.

ccco1,
Thanks for the info...I'll check into it.

#1104 of 2127 Looking for a Wind/Bug Defector by ckwong2

Dec 03, 2003 (9:26 am)

Hi Everyone,
I've bought my first Toyota, a 2004 RAV4 FWD basic model for $20,000 + Tax. I like it a lot, but one minor problem on the driver side mirror. It would not move out enough for me to see the blind spot. does anyone have the same problem?
Anyway, I am trying to find a bug defector, but all I could found was for 2003 model. Does the bug defector for 2003 fit 2004 model? Thanks.

#1106 of 2127 Bug Deflector by wsommariva

I have the 2004 accessories page and they have a hood protector. That may be the same as a bug deflector? So your dealer should be able to get one for the 2004. I had a situation with all weather mats. My dealer ordered them but they did not fit!. They changed the floor a bit on the 2004s. After talking to Toyota in CA, the dealer was able to get the correct mats for my 2004.

As far as your mirror, make sure the entire mirror is in the correct position. Remmember it folds both ways in case you hit something.

Do you have the dashboard rattle squeak? I bring it in next week to get it fixed.

Hope this helps
