the auto-login has been broken for many months now.
It works fine on other message boards I visit far less frequently, so I know its not my computer (not to mention the autologin doesn't work on any of my computers or devices anymore).

Besides being slow to log in especially if the autologin has losts its cookie, the site often stalls on going to the second webpage after reading the first with new posts.
I have the same problem on both XP pro computers.

I apologize for the continued issues.
The best thing to do for technical problems with the site is to click on Help and send an email detailing what you are experiencing. Submitting a ticket provides more info and is assigned to the proper department.

I have submitted tickets and gotten responses after a few days.
I tried to capture the link at Edmunds my IE8 was trying to load and gave it to them along with my ID and email address so they could track my logins if they do that.
I added my note because it helps other to know they're not along. It helps to know it's not just PC's but Apple OS's that are having trouble. I had wonder if it were something in the ads that get loaded because I had Java turned off.
It's got to be very frustrating for the tech folks -- and for the hosts.

Thanks Karen. I too have sent multiple communications on this.

Karen, I not so sure that really helps. I've sent emails many, many times, always getting a standard "we're working on it" response. I even supplied my logon and password once as they wanted to see if they could duplicate the slow page load problem which has been going on sporadically for a long time. Never did hear back.
And I also use Windows 7 with IE8/9, Firefox, Chrome, and my iPad, with the same results. Really is a shame. Tried to turn some friends onto the forum, but they got tired of waiting for pages to load, and gave up. Sure wish they could fix it.
Edit: Just hit the "post my message" button to post the above, got the spinning wheel for over 3 minutes! Frustrating.....

I've been told this has been fixed. If it's still happening, please let me know.

FWIW, there has been some progress in determining what is causing these problems. Unfortunately, the fix isn't simple. In the past few weeks I've noticed a marked improvement, but there are certain times of the day that it is agonizing. Believe me, I am just as frustrated.

You shouldn't be seeing the Facebook prompt on Forums at all. Please let me know if you still do.
Thanks!
