Hello,
I am looking around the forums for RSS feeds. And cannot seem to find any. Do the forums have RSS feeds? That would be a great addition.
thanks

We're checking into this possibility now. Stay tuned for further developments.

Why is Mazda always first? by backy

I've wondered for a long time... why is Mazda always "first" in the forums?

What I mean is, I have many watched discussions. If the unread posts from those watched discussions include any Mazda discussions, they always come up first when I "Read New Posts." And I can't figure out why. The Mazda discussions aren't first in my list of watched discussions. They certainly aren't first alphabetically. Yet they always pop to the top.

Why is that?

Over on the right under "Forum Tools" you will find "Forum Preferences". Towards the bottom of that page is the sort option.

RIght, I am aware of that. My sort order is the default. My question to the Forms staff was, restated a bit, why is Mazda "on top" in the default sort order?

Sort, sort of... by pf_flyer HOST

Well I know when I go to my Watched Items page, the groups that I'm following are listed in the order of last place I made a post. Just going into a group and reading posts doesn't change that order. If the last place I made a post was in a Mazda forum, then that forum stays on the top of the list until I make a post somewhere else and then that new forum goes to the top and the Mazda forum (and all the others) slides down a spot on the list.

Discussions with new posts (the list following the list of watched forums) the order there is determined by most recent post. if a discussion in one of my watched groups gets a new post, the discussion appears on the top of that list.

After those "new post discussions" are the discussions I've set individual watches on. (This discussion for example) Those are always listed there, and seem to be sorted by last post as well. If there's a new post in one, it moves to top of the individually watched items" section (after the new post in watched groups listings)

And just like the watched groups, if I make a post in an individually watched discussion, it moves to the top of the list as well (I think... checking that now)

Clear as mud?

And yes, the individual watched items behave like the watched groups. Last activity by me in a discussion move that item to the top of its respective list.

Thanks for the explanation. It just seemed odd to me that, every single day, someone in a Mazda discussion (one or more) made the first posts across all of my watched discussions, so when I click on "Read New Posts", I see the Mazda posts first, followed by others. (Note that many of these Mazda discussions are those I don't directly participate in, e.g. Mazdaspeed3 discussions.)

BTW, I was not talking about the ordering of the list of my watched items, but the order in which new posts are displayed when I click on "Read New Posts."
