I just posted my questions in Talk to the Hosts. However, when I clicked on this topic from my welcome page, where I was already logged in, it said that I had to be logged in to post. I'm beginning to think that ALL the Netscape bookmarks that I just added will NOT work. It seems like EVERY topic I want to go to will have to be accessed from the welcome page and the entire topic list. PLEASE tell me this isn't the case and that I'm doing something wrong! fastdriver |

These topics cannot be re-ordered by number of new posts, right? In my "miscellaneous settings", that looks like it just might be upgradable to do the above, or add other features. Yes/no? |

Can anyone post what the actual changes are or any new features? Or is it simply a different look? Just how does this make my life any easier? I will say this: I like the fact that the message box that I'm currently typing in is wider. I thought the old one was a little cramped. What happended to all the posts from the last couple of days? And how do I flag just those threads in each conference that I feel like following? |

No, there is no bookmark/placemark feature. I would hope that in the coming months we can roll in a feature similar to placemarks. However, that said, if we do get such a feature we still would not be able to move in your placemarks from the old system. |
|
| I don't think that is the case, but I will check it out. I **think** that there is a problem with that particular URL (we are fixing it right now). I will give it a test drive as well. | |
| Having bookmarks and placemarks was a great feature. I could check the site from any computer and it would remember the last post I had read. I think that this feature should be implemented again. It allowed me to see at a glance if there were any new posts that I did not read yet. Please find a way to bring this feature back. | |

The topics will be listed by recent activity (most recently posted to at the top). It will take a few days for this to "settle" in. You can also select how you want the discussions listed by clicking on "Preferences" at the top of the screen next to "Welcome guitarzan". For the topics you have visited...I'm not sure if you are referring to the "View History" list that was in the old system or not. At any rate, "View History" (which showed you everyplace that you had been) was a feature of the old system and you won't have the same feature here (sorry!). |

You can look in the Help located on the left side to look through what the features are. We purposely did not add any enhancements for the re-launch as we figured the move itself would be traumatic enought! We will be rolling in features to this system once we get the initial bugs out. Many of the features are ones that will compliment your experience in the boards. For example - we now have the ability to "move" a discussion from one board to another. Sometimes a discussion would get started in the wrong place and we couldn't move it so we would have to delete it. |

(growl) Well, I understand about changing the flow; its like verbal communication which, once said, can't be unsaid. But as for editing a post objectionable after its been read by a host: is that really likely to happen? OK. New question. With the old software, I used the "spell check" feature not to check my spelling, but rather to make sure any link or bold/italicized font changes actually worked like I wanted them to. In other words, when "spell checking", the post looked exactly like it would when actually posted. However, when I spell check with the new software, it doesn't do that. It shows all the html tags without boding, italicizing, or whatever. Is there anyway to view what your post will actually appear like before posting it? |

I find it incredibly inconvenient that Placemarks were done away with. With them, I could check Town Hall anywhere, anytime, and catch up with my favorite topics. Now I have to come to this start page and root through hundreds of topics to find the ones I'm interested in? How is this better than the old Town Hall? If you make things more convenient for people, they will appreciate it. If you make things less convenient, they'll go somewhere else or stop using your service. |
