And it wasn't condescending. I still ain't happy with it, it only took me 3 hours to get to post wiht my own handle.I'd have rather that they maintained the old forum until they got the kinks worked out of this one. But my visits may become less frequent until things are squared away. I liked this site and tried to help when I could, but like I said, when the fun is gone,so am I. And today hasn't been fun at all. |

Glad you're back! I hadn't even managed to get my message posted to you yet, though I've been trying! I understand that because of all the transistion mess, they have had to restart the server a few times and that's causing some of the login problems. I had made a couple of posts to you that didn't take. (We'll see if this one does!!) Glad you are working on being understanding, and I sure hope everyone is doing the same. We'll get through this one way or the other, and how much nicer will it be to do it as partners than as adversaries. After all we ARE a community, right? I tend to lose patience too quickly(imagine that). But I have to hit the forums as time allows and sometimes when things aren't working as scheduled,my frustration level gets away from me. Have fun. |

Getting rid of Netscape memory cache and disk cache let me post this discussion group. Before I did that, I could post to certain groups but not this one. Registering a new ID did not help but dumping the cache did. Like everybody else, I was totally lost without placemarks. I'm still struggling to find my way around. Being a software engineer myself, I can understand how hard it must be for the support group to switch to the new software. It could be as bad as switching from Unix to windows.. Please bring the preview mode back. Also make the spelling check a bit smarter and don't let it alter the word such as Netscape to Nets cape. Allowing adding non-recognized words to a personal dictionary would be nice. Thank you for listening! |

We are working now on a preview solution. Spellcheck - I'll fool around with the system's custom dictionary and see what I can do. You can add non-recognizable words to your own personal dictionary by selecting Preferences (next to Welcome mdx1 at the top of the screen) and completing the field for the personal spell checker. |
