Now the gray bar on the lefthand side is taking up half the screen, and I can't read MOST of the posts in most of the forums even in Opera, between the bar on the left and the intruding video thing on the right. Sheesh. Is it too much to ask that we be able to actually read the posts in Town Hall? Else, how will we ever see the advertiser's ads and how will Edmunds stay in business? Seriously....somebody over there seems to have way too much fun playing with things and changing things that worked fine before... |

ENOUGH ALREADY! This morning the gray video box is covering 1/3 of the top three or four posts in every forum I have visited. In IE, it is actually floating in the middle of the text! This is PATHETIC. How difficult can it be to GET RID of the gray video box until you can fix this problem? Or does Edmund's just not care about those of us who have difficulty reading text on a monitor? It's a promo, for crying out loud. Either move it, get rid of it, or fix it. It can't be that difficult to go back to what you had before you made this so-called improvement. In the meantime, I can't read the posts at the top of each forum in ANY browser now--Opera, Firefox or Internet Express 6 included... This is bothering me way more than it needs to. I won't be visiting Edmund's Townhall other than maybe once a week to see if this has been fixed. In the meantime, if it does get fixed, could one of the hosts PLEASE email me and let me know it has been? I would appreciate it...I do care about this place, but this is far more than a minor aggravation.

Replying to: Sylvia (Nov 03, 2005 6:34 am) There is a very long url there that has to wrap in order to display. That wrapping is causing the text area to widen which then makes the normal text area here encroach the video area. If I set the font size to smallest, it displays normal. But, sorry guys I don't think anyone here is going to read in that small size. Quite frankly, the ads are overwhelming and I tune them out and haven't clicked on 'em. The forum screens are very busy looking now. How can other phpBB sites do ads so simply? I worry you'll one day have each forum posting surrounded by an ad, it sure seems to be headed that way... Oh, one last thing: Test before deploy, test before deploy. -Brian

Replying to: Sylvia (Nov 03, 2005 6:34 am) I do have a work around, however...when the thread loads, and I find that the text is being partly hidden, I select the "recent messages" tab at the bottom, and now the text is only hidden on the top 1 or 2 posts, and I can scroll down and read the current new ones with ease. |

Replying to: Sylvia (Nov 03, 2005 6:34 am) someone had said they had XP sp2 and IE6. I have the same platform and have no problems. I am not implying others aren't have problems.

| What's up with the extra wide "Videos on Inside Line" grey ad column on the right side of screen? Is this a mistake? If not it is exceedingly annoying to have to center the posts column with bottom scroll bar every time I click to go to another discussion or topic. | |

Replying to: mac24 (Nov 03, 2005 7:18 am) Only problem I note there is the advertisements at the top never load -- no problem-- it just loads the rest of the page. Occasionally have trouble with subscribed list repeating messages I've already read over and over and occasionally inserting one of the discussion's new messages which I haven't viewed -- even though there are several discussions with new messages according to the Message Center. I've mentioned this before. It happens rarely. I restart computer and things seem okay; just restarting IE6 does not fix the problem. |
