I visit a lot of message boards and this BB software has to be the worst, most convoluted, out-of-date system in use. Edmunds, step out of mid-90's BB software and upgrade to something new. Actually, we will do the upgrade first and not change any features so we can troubleshoot the upgrade and make sure things are stable, etc. We will then roll-in new features 1 by 1 (probably 1 per week). You will not lose any functionality. If you like reading the way you read now, great - you get to keep it just as you have it. If you want to use new features, they are optional and available to you if you wish. I don't have a date yet, hopefully within a month and the membership will be given notice as to any downtime for the upgrade, etc.

Replying to: driftracer (Oct 20, 2004 4:49 pm) hey - you want improvements and more features? We need to upgrade. We tried the upgrade back in August and it didn't go well so we rolled back. John/sysop has been hard at work these last 2 months working out the fine details as to what happened, fixes, etc. This is a Forums software upgrade - much different than all the sign-in problems (autologin, etc) you experienced in Sept which were outside of Forums (different team, different application).

I hope this isn't going to change the nice page-by-page read we have now. I hate searching forums for computer problems and software game problems where the whole message is hidden and only a title is available. Then you have to click and wait for the message.
