I recently bought a 2000 intrigue 3.5l v6 gx model with 109,000 miles on it. I took it to autozone and had the battery and alternator tested and my alternator was only running at 55 amps so i replaced the alternator and had it tested it again and the amp output was 141. well now the battery is not being charged by alt. what gives? also i had the service engine soon indicator come on so i had that tested and was told it is the crankshaft position sensor. i am due to have that replace this weekend. any assistance from experienced intrigue owners would be greatly appreciated. i am ready to throw my hands up. but i read several post in this forum that this is a really good car so please any insight.

As for the Alternator, if it was working before, even though at 55amps and now the new one isn't, even though I haven't had do replace an alternator (hopefully some others can have some good alternator advice) I would guess you screwed up a connection somewhere. Does the still start fine? |

Last month, I purchased a 2000 intrigue with 100,000 kilometres on it (60,000 miles). I noticed in the last few days that the car was smelling odd inside, so I removed the front passenger and driver's matts, and discovered that the rugs were completely wet, and in my opinion not because of the snow melting and getting underneath the mats. The weather had been more springlike, melting snow, etc. Can anyone suggest where we should be looking? Under the car, hood or any other area for holes. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cindy

Hi! Just thought of another question to ask. This is the first intrigue I've owned, and I've never had one with the ignition on the dash. When I bought it from the dealer, I mentioned to them, that I noticed once the car is not running and parked, that I can't get the steering wheel to lock in place. They told me since the ignition is on the dash, they do not lock. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks again! Cindy |

Replying to: cindy37 (Mar 21, 2009 3:12 pm) It also could be a "leak" at the junction of the windshield and black plastic on the passenger side. Under this plastic is where the cabin air filter sits. That seal can fail allowing water through that air intake and onto the passenger side mat. I hope I described that properly. I know it has been discussed a few times. Check out post #11692 of 12252.
