I don't think it's crazy. When my daughter totaled my first Intrigue, I looked at a lot of used cars and couldn't find anything with as much bang for the buck. I ended up buying another 02 Intrigue and have been very happy with it.

What trim is it? Has it been taken care of? Are there maintenance records?

It's a GL. Don't know anything about the car or if they would consider a low offer. When my wife gets back from the carribean I'll talk to her about it. We would probably sell the tahoe.

The longer I own my '02 Intrigue the more I appreciate it. I haven't had any major problems with it, it still rides tight and rattle-free, the engine still loves to rev, and I still think it looks better than 99% of the cars on the road. I still love the body design after all these years; in fact it looks better to me all the time. Plus it's now paid for so that helps. If for whatever reason I had to replace it I doubt I would look for another one at this stage, but finding one with only 31K on it would make a tempting opportunity. The '02s were as good as they got.

Hey bz4---that's a good buy...Miss my 02, but I got the 06GPGT so cheap I have adjusted to a noisy, gas guzzer SC engine, and needed the sunroof..I have found a gas station that has a defective pump for the last six weeks which dispenses gas in favor of the user. Premium mileage is around 30mpg whereas in the real world, about 20 would be the truth..Not a cut rate station either. We have four cars in the family visiting the pump regularly..

My 02 Intrigue covered about 119.5k w/o any engine, driveline or a/c problems..Had new plugs installed around 111k..All Florida driving.., mileage on regular was 24/31..Drive the GTO on those long trips and have some fun..

Have a good day...

I am the proud owner of a 2002 GL Ruby Red with 112000k on it. Almost made the mistake of going for an Alero but got interested in the Intrigue instead and am glad I did.
Interior of this car is immaculate - like new. Just have the dash/centre vent issue. Came with 4 snows on rims and with wheel covers. $6300 CDN + tax etc. Had the rotors done and am totally in love with the car - it was time for some luxury after driving my Mazda 3 for the past three years.

Have read almost ALL the posts on the forum - thanks to all for their insights.

The service engine soon light recently lit up my dash. The troubleshooting code came back at P0420 "Catalyst efficiency low bank 1. Anyone have experience with this code? Any ideas on how to resolve this problem?

Missing by yammaxim700

I have a '99 with 3.5 and 147k miles on it. Lately it acts as though a plug wire is bad. It misses and runs rough, and then will hit on all 6 cyl. and run properly, then miss again. I recently changed the plugs, so it's not the plugs. Could it be one of those modules or whatever sits on the plugs, since it doesn't have plug wires?

Thanks,
Chad

Hey guys just a random update on my 99 trig 3.5 with 130k miles. just got back from a 4.5 hour trip to memphis. gas mileage was excellent, only took one tank for 4 hours, about 327 miles (fresh spark plugs and boots). ride was really great and i had 4 passengers plus their luggage. she still has the power she had when i first got her with 84k last year. tranny shifts very smoothly while going up hilly I-55s. anyone else have a trip story?

If the car is mis-firing that bad, you should have the "check engine" light come on. It could be a number of things including a bad coil, bad MAF, torque converter problem, crankshaft sensor, ignition switch, etc.

Are you having any other issues with the car?
