I didn't get it?
Your 2001 has 13.2 gallon tank that reads empty near 10 gallon empty mark, what's the problem?
I purchased it new and now my 1992 Civic CX has 110,000 miles on it. My average gas milage is 35.9 mpg for city/highway mix for the past 12 fill-ups. I'd be getting better milage if I kept the 165/70-13's instead of upsizing to 175/70-13's. It's 10 gallon fuel tank always reads empty near 7-8 gallon empty mark. This is my third Honda and can't wait to get the new 2001 Civic LX sedan.

The dealer will charge you for keys - if you let them and sign the purchase form. "Document Fees" - not my prob, that's overhead. "See that TRANSPARENT coating, that's paint protection. And only for $600". If you have one, watch your trade-in (what they "give" you on the new car, they may "take" from the trade). In the end, only the numbers tell the truth from all the smoke.
#816 of 4041 Theory on Gas Gauge
Jun 18, 2001 (5:16 pm)
A few days ago, I realized that Honda lists different numbers for the gas gauge capacity. On the very last page of the owner's manual, gas capacity is listed at 11.9 gallons, same as the previous Civic. However, in the brochure and in several other places, capacity is listed at 13.2. Now it's only a theory, but what if all of our cars actually came with 11.9 gallon tanks instead of 13.2 gallon tanks? It would explain an awful lot. I've never been able to put in more than about 10.5 gallons with the car running on "E". That would be about correct if the car actually had a 11.9 gallon tank instead of a 13.2 gallon tank. Has anyone ever run out of gas? Or for that fact, has anyone who claims to have a gas gauge problem ever been able to put in more than 11.9 gallons?
#817 of 4041 buy Civic LX today
Jun 18, 2001 (9:59 pm)
Thanks a lot for all information you here gave to me. Today I bought that new Honda Civic LX I mentioned above. The base price was the invoice price. They charged the mark-up fee of $100. The dealer removed the trims I don't like and installed mudguards. They didn't charge money for keys, or something else.
I know they cannot offer me the best price in the world, but I am really satisfied with their friendly and honest service. I feel happy with this trade while they made profits in an honest and acceptable way.
I love this silver-colored baby. Its shining lightens my everyday life.

Silver coloured baby? Are you talking about an Aston Martin or a Civic?
#819 of 4041 bad gas mileage for 2000 5 spd LX civic??
Jun 19, 2001 (1:48 pm)
Hi, I am wondering if I am just weird or what but I've noticed that I am average about 32.5 mpg for my 2000 honda civic lx. Now since it's a manual, shouldn't be getting about 35mpg since the sticker said 32mpg city 37 hwy. I do most of my driving on the highway wher my avg speed is probably 72mph. Is anyone else noticing gas mileage that is this low or is this just me? What could be the problem. It has 11,000 miles on it.
#820 of 4041 Honda dealer in OK?
Jun 19, 2001 (2:36 pm)
From time to time, someone posts on this list that there's a dealer in Oklahoma that sells all or most Hondas for $100 above invoice. A friend asked me for the name of the dealer...can someone recall it?
#821 of 4041 Gas Mileage
Jun 19, 2001 (4:32 pm)
I have a new 2001 Civic EX 4dr sedan 5 speed.
Here are my 4 mileages since purchase:
38.6, 37.7, 40.0, and 39.5
We too considered the Mazda Protege ES, but decided on the Civic because of the gas mileage, and knock on wood so far we feel we were right.
No problems to report so far except ride doesn't appear to be as smooth as our test drives.
Has anyone gotten a notice for the gas leak recall yet?
#822 of 4041 Question for isellhondas...
Jun 20, 2001 (5:01 am)
Without giving away company secrets...do you charge an advertising fee when you sell a 2001 Civic? Is it already included in the price of the car, or is it in addition? Or is there no advertising fees with Honda? Can your policy be expected at all Honda dealerships...or will it vary.
Thank you -
#823 of 4041 2002 Civic pricing

I see that the Corolla 2002 pricing is already out...when can we expect the same for Honda? Also..when will these cars hit the dealerships?
