I got popped for 92 in a 65 back in 1996. I had my V1 but the bogey paced me from behind. I had broken a cardinal road warrior rule-I wasn't checking my Six. I was preoccupied(my mother-in-law had just suffered a coronary and we were driving to the hospital) and driving the Hellrot Club Sport. It also didn't help that my side window sported a "BMW CCA Club Racing" sticker and that my eighteen month old son was strapped into his gray market BMW car seat saying "uh-oh! uh-oh!"...

To me the G35 sedan looks completely ordinary while atleast the coupe has that exotic look to it. I know looks are subjective but I just don't see how the sedan looks nearly as nice as the 330i. As far as those 0-60 numbers go, I read in the 3 different comparisons how the auto 330i did 0-60 in 6.7 I guess it is safe to say 6.7 is pretty accurate but what I like to know is the 530 auto just as quick? If the 530 has the same engine on a heavier frame than shouldn't that slow it down.

Even I have to admit that the van is probably the best choice given the family and such. Also, like I just pointed out over on the 5-Series discussion:
"Oh well, at least I will have something to drive if ever I break another leg (third time is a charm?). By the way, I have been out of my cast for just over a week now, and I am hoping to start driving my 530i by next weekend. " Which if I do, will be over eight weeks since I last drove it.
"...I guess it is safe to say 6.7 is pretty accurate but what I like to know is the 530 auto just as quick? If the 530 has the same engine on a heavier frame than shouldn't that slow it down."
Hmmm, well technically, yes, all else being equal. That said, there are any number of factors that come into play here. First off, the 530iA only outweighs the 330iA by 187 pounds (209 for the manual versions), which can be easily offset by a tank of gas (108 lbs.), different levels of content, some test equipment, or even drivers of different weights. So, if you couple this nominal weight difference with manufacturing variances, temperature, humidity and barometric pressure differences between testing days, and you could easily find that the 530i could score faster test runs than a 330i which was tested the day before.
Another thing to consider is that a 330iA with no other options comes equipped with 205/50R-17 All-Season tires while a stripper 530iA comes shod with 225/55R-16 All-Season tires, nearly an inch wider that the 205's on the 330i. Given that the 530iA is only 5.5% heavier than the 330iA, but it has nearly 10% more rubber on the road, traction off the line could be the differentiating factor all by itself.

My only ticket ever (knock on wood) 95 on 75 limit I think? (Actually doing 100+ but I would not argue with them
Dusk, not a single car on either way for the past 10 min (except a Maxima who actually past me earlier!) enjoying the scenery, the bad lands, etc, singing with the kids....
Suddenly, he appears coming from the opposite direction (looking for dangerous criminals, drug dealers, assassins, you name it.....but NO, he is not), crosses the 2 lines, goes in-out the median grass divider and comes in pursuit after me
I have never used a radar detector, and wonder if it would have saved me? I believe all the constant alarms will drive me crazy and keep me at the edge (on my nerves) all the time?
Since probably not much happens there, traffic violation revenue must be the favorite past time in that state. And, since you are a tourist, they know you will not contest the ticket!

"Who knows which magazine and issue for each cited data point? Without such attribution, data is essentially meaningless as it can't be verified."
I cited my sources in post #22110. You might want to go back and read it before you call my facts into question. Who cares which issue of which magazine the data was pulled from? If it bugs you that much, go do your own research and try to prove me wrong, but how dare you cast any doubt on the facts I presented.
All the data was pulled from published reputable sources. I do not have the time, desire or need to go through my library of past mag issues to justify anything to you.
Believe it or don't believe it either way means absolutely nothing to me.
I have been posting on various forums in Edmunds Town Hall since 1998 and when I post an opinion, I preface it as either subjective, or as my opinion. When I state a fact, I state it as just that. I try to not engage in personal debates on this forum however when someone refers to my research as "essentially meaningless", I will in every instance stand up for my integrity.
If you would like to continue this further, please email me directly. If not, letís consider this closed and move on.

<< Hands down, I'm so in love with the coupe even though, granted... I wish I had four doors and a back seat someone could fit into. >>
The Headroom/Legroom specs are not that much different for the Sedan. True, you get the extra door to get in there. I am with you... LOVE the coupe. Can't wait for mine to get here. Currently somewhere on the Atlantic making its journey.
