knows yet...too early to tell. We still have to see what Infiniti brings us this year at Auto Shows around the world.

an I35 replacement. The ES330 is running out of competitors in the luxury segment! (the ES330 could use some FWD competition besides the TL right now)

the Volvo S60, which is FWD. That's only 3 competing with each other when there's a ton more RWD/AWD luxury sedans under $40K!

The Teana is not going to replace the I35. How many more times does it need to be said. There is going to be no more I35. The only Infiniti 3.5L sedans for 2005 will be the G35 and the M35 (Fuga).

the I35 does not really belong in the Infiniti line, as Infiniti wants to go RWD or RWD biased AWD and the Maxima platform will only allow the I35 to go so far. So I'm guessing the I35 will be cut.

Have any of you driven the competition you listed and checked out the accessories for the $$ ? I drove the SAAB (clunky,no class) and the Volvo S60 (too small) and S80 (no giddyup) and the Lincoln LS (RWD is awful in snow/ice) and passed on the Acura & Lexus line because the options weren't there (such as no folding rear seats). The G35 feels more like a car you should have in college, not as a professional or anyone over the age of 25. I hate to see the I35 go, it seemed to have it all in one neat package--despite the awful dealers.

the I35 is a great bargain out there- loaded (minus NAV) for less than $32K. Even Acura can't beat that.

Calling I35 owners, what is your average MPG?

what is your average miles per gallon? I just calculated mine today, it average 18.5 mpg with highway/local combined, that is not very good. Obviously the computer reading is not accurate, and i never depend on it.
I had my I35 right front axle changed at less than 1000 miles, i wonder if that causes any adverse effect against mileage.
your input is appreciated.

The car's computer is actually pretty accurate on MPG. Remember, it is calculating during stops at traffic lights, acceleration from stops or to highway speeds, idles, everything. Kind of like the average speed indicator. After a road trip your average speed really wasn't 25mph, but it takes into consideration time stopped, acceleration, deceleration, etc. If you want to know your true highway MPG best bet is to reset the computer while driving at highway speeds. My I35 sport varies on the highway from 24 to 29, but even highway driving in Boston is like driving a NASCAR demolition derby so my readings include stomping the gas AND brake.
