You posted:
"zeliforp - the current iteration of the I35 is being carried over as a 2004 model. Infiniti has already announced it "
Yep. If you read my post above yours, I mentioned:
"The I35 will be sold through next year... until supply runs out "
If anyone here is interested in what we oops I mean they have been showing to select folks at product design previews in terms of the 'potential' M45 and M35 (the latter which will replace the I35), do a keyword search on Edmunds for "Nissan Fuga". Or just look here: http://www.edmunds.com/news/autoshows/articles/100643/page007.htm
Imagine what an Infiniti symbol would look like in place of the Nissan hamburger icon. Also envision options of a vq35de or vh45 powerplant.
And Ummm... I wouldn't count on the "straight off the FX45 concept" lazer-beam headlights.
But I've said enough. That is all.

have any information about the upcoming next generation I35? Or are they just going to drop the car in favor of the G35?
Dec 14, 2003 (6:59 pm)
There isn't going to be any new I35. Infiniti are dropping FWD vehicles. There will be an M35 which will be based on the Nissan Fuga.

that will replace the I35 right?
Dec 17, 2003 (8:55 pm)
It depaends what you mean by "replace". The I35 designation will disappear and an M35 will appear. The M35 will be a rear wheel drive rather than the front wheel drive of the I35.

I mean that a new model comes out, while the model that was in the same price range and targeted the same people disappears. The I35 is a little out of date. The only real close competitor would be the Lexus ES330, a way better car but the ES330 costs more $$$$$.

The Teana is the Australian Maxima. Insider news says that the Teana has a pretty good chance of becoming the next I35 in America. We do know that the Fugo is the next M35/45. So Infiniti should have some pretty exciting models to come!

will the M35/G35 and I35 all co-exist? Or will the I35 be dropped? Where will each of them stand price wise? Where does the M35 fit into the equasion? 5-Series competitor?
