Heya, KevinsDiamante here, the other site wont let me log in anymore, I have had numerous accounts there, I did, in fact, replace the front thrust "O" ring without removing the water inlet. I ground off the top of the bolt (loosened it first) which allowed me to remove the bolt and cover. I replaced the "O" ring and added some non-hardening gasket sealer to the "O" ring landing and then replaced the bolt with a slightly shorter version, walla, one leak down, scads of them to go.

I finally broke down and took it apart. Argh, what a job. Took me three days.
The little hole that the water was dripping from leads directly to the water pump. It's there as a drain to keep water pump leaks away from the timing belt!!!
The water pump seal had gone bad. Car only has 65000 miles on it.
Replaced water pump, timing belt and all the other stuff in there.

Gee, I thought I was the only slow one, it took me 3 days too, but my D made it to 100k before my water pump failed. Now I am dealing with oil leaks on all fronts.
Best of luck,

#1472 of 1497 How To Aim High And Low Beams On 2003 Diamante?
Apr 02, 2010 (6:21 am)
Hi guys! I've got a 2003 Diamante that I need to adjust the headlights on. I found the up & down screw for the low beams and what appears to be a large and small gear to control L & R. But nothing happens when I move the geared wheel. And I don't seem to find any high beam adjustment. Also what bulbs do you recommend for giving the best light output distance? THANKS!!
#1473 of 1497 Never Ending Alarm System
Apr 12, 2010 (7:04 pm)
Hello! I have a 2003 Diamante and I will lock the car walk away and within one hour the anti-theft system will be going off. Then I have to walk all the way out to the car to turn the alarm off. I unlock it and then lock it again, with in the next hour it will go off again. I saw somewhere there was a recall or something posted about this but I just want to know how to fix the thing! I have changed the battery in the clicker, but of course that didn't help! All the windows are up, sunroof closed, trunk and hood down. I just don't get it! It's so embarrassing especially when they announce it over a loud speaker that the alarm is going off! UGH! Any suggestion would be wonderful!!

The little gear on the shaft that you turn to adjust the lights is only pressed on and it loosens and then doesn't drive the mating gear that actually does the adjustment. Simple turn the second gear directly with a long screwdriver.

hi everyone new to the forum. i recently become a diamonte fan . have a lot of issues with this car but the car was free to me so im not complaning(much).my younger brother who has a used car dealership in the mid west sent me the the paper work and keys with a note stating.all i had to do was repo. it from the previous owner who by default, not only has not made one payment sense leaving the lot but left the state. for him (my loving younger brother) its personal.because of the cost to get it back there.from sunny ca.(fresno)it was mine,if i was up to the task. and what timing i had just gottin mine repoed a few days pryor. it was like paying it forward. its really a classy car. but it needs work..now im not a recovery expert, i dont do it for aliving. but hey (what could go wrong).after all i got the keys.unfortunatly i found out on that suggested early morning recovery.but thats a different story.but i will say in my brother note he did mention that the couple, who defaulted on the contract were absalutely angels.boy i wish i had paid attention to that statement a bit more.so thats why im here im in need ofyour help if possible on answers to a few mechanical defects. and i dont mean mine. like when starting the car putting it in reverse it has waay to long of a delay before actually kicking in to gear and after raceing the rpms.to an (awakening) high it moves (oh crap) so slowly? the same result when in that (ah jesus) shift to drive? to describe: its like having that nightmare of a dream were everythings slow motion for you but everyone around you are responding in a normal motion. plus everyone can fly with winged jackets.
i hope i described the the symptoms enough to get a response.thanks

#1477 of 1497 Fuel injector order
Aug 24, 2010 (3:37 pm)
I need to replace the number 1 fuel injector on my 99 diamante. When we replaced the distributor cap, the numbers on the cap didn't match the firing order of the cylinders. Which cylinder is number 1? Thanks!
