Take a look at Kumhos. They are OEM for many Hyundais now. I replaced the Michelins on my 2001 Elantra GLS with Kumho Ecsta HP4 716s and they gave a smooth, quiet ride and good wet handling, better than the Michelins. (My sister owns the car now.) The Michelins only lasted 30k for me (I have to have some tread for winter), and the Kumhos may not do much better but they cost only about $40 each on sale. They have been replaced now with a newer design, but the tire dealer should be able to tell you the closest equivalent (got mine at Discount Tire).

#5319 of 5565 oil change and rpm by dria24

Hello
Does anyone know if we can use 20/50 oil for an oil change, has anyone use this on their car, we have 2001 Elantra with 133,000 miles on it.

Second, at what rpm should the car be set at? If someone can answer before Friday, much appreciated

No. 10W30 is the max recommended multi. The only time 20W50 MIGHT be acceptable is in extreme heat conditions, but the little 2.0 runs cool.

Idle is computer controlled, at around 800rpm if I remember correctly.

I just had the get my right rear brake cylinder replaced, I have an 2005 w/ ~40K on it. It was covered under the warranty no problems though, the mechanic said he hadn't seen that too often, especially w/ that low mileage. Hopefully just a fluke.

Blower does not come on! AC either! Checked fuses, none blown, so where to begin troubleshooting?

Did you check the fuses in both fuse boxes (under the hood and under the dash)?

Hi
Does anyone know about "Turbine Speed Sensor" it has to do with the sensor in the transmission, I have a 2001 Elantra has 135,000 miles. Does this say the transmission will go or what?? Thanks in advance

#5326 of 5565 interior dome lights out on my 2002 Elantra by navybluebill

Apr 13, 2008 (7:46 pm)

Hello,

I just purchased a 2002 Elantra. The interior dome lights are out. I don't have a owner's manual so I'm not sure exactly what fuse to replace in the fuse box. Does anyone know which one I could replace?

Thanks!

#5327 of 5565 50,000 Maintenance by rguedel

I have a 2004 Elantra that just passed the 50K mark. Are the maintenance checks they recommend in the manual necessary and can they be done somewhere else other then a dealer?

Thank you!
