Since I think I understand you now, I'll try it again.

You can reprogram the locks on the Camry to NOT lock automatically, if you so choose. (That way, you can lock them only when you see strangers, and not worry about unlocking them after a crash)

It's okay! I always miscommunicate(without thoroughly explainating things) with others! lol...

I have no worry about being car-jacking (98 camry 4cyc), but i am more afraid of being robbed! lol ... so that why i perfer to have a simple "power lock"!

As I have always said I don't think you can make a blanket statement that either the Accord or the Camry is the better car. It's going to come down to personal preference. The Camry is a great car but so is the Accord. The Accord is a safe car but so is the Camry. The Camry is roomy but so is the Accord. You could go on and on. In the end the decision will come down to what you prefer driving. I prefer driving my Accord. I love that darn car. But I'm sure there are lots of people out there who love their Camrys just as much.

I'm wondering if this topic hasn't just about run its course until one of these vehicles gets a makeover. There haven't been too many substantive posts here lately, other than that one really good head-to-head feature comparison a week or two ago. There really isn't much that hasn't already been discussed, in some cases, multiple times.

Very true.

Rumor has it though, that the next Camry will debut ahead of expectation. The last Camry debuted as an '02 MY in the Fall of 01, meaning a Fall 06 release as an '07, but I've read unconfirmed reports that the debut will be in Spring of '06... likely as an 07 if thats the case. One report had it early as fall of this year, but I find that hard to believe.

The current Camry is essentially the same as the Toyota Mark II sold in Japan.

An all-new Mark X was recently introduced there and could be close to what the next generation 2007 Camry will look like. See it at the site below--click on the small photo for more pics......Richard

Hi Richards38:

___Thank you for the link … The Mark X is a RWD automobile? That is not an easy transplant if they intend to make a FWD version for NA?

___As far as appearances go; it looks Jaguarish from the front end and the previous gen Acura TL from the rear to me? It will place a lot of pressure on the Accord’s total sales and pricing holdup later on this year more then likely given Toyota’s 2007 Camry release means early to mid 2006 as an actual release date.

___Good Luck

camry may pull ahead by rutger3

tough choice between these two, but just learned that Toyota has a $750 rebate plus 2.9% financing, this may make the difference in choosing . plus Toyota comes with a longer warranty, power seat, and larger trunk. but of course the Accord comes with more zip, better handling, telescoping wheel. This is close. One other factor, it seems there are more camry LE's on the lots, then Accord LX's to choose from.

2005 LA show impressions by kurtamaxxguy

comparing similar hierarchy models, it seemed the Honda had a more refined interior (some of the Camry's dash trim was downright cheap). The Honda also had a "firmer" feel than the Camry (firmer seats, more robust lumbar support, etc.).

Whatever....both Honda and Camry sell very well.

Would you mind pointing out which part(s) of the Camry's dash is "downright cheap"? I just want to know for comparison sake what your definition of cheap is. Thanks.
