#1173 of 2065 95 SentraGXE/Fuel Pump
Oct 23, 2001 (5:45 am)
I have a '95 Sentra GXE and about once/3months, the dang thing will not want to start...Usually on a cooler morning.. Everything sounds fine except that it sounds like their is no Fuel getting thru. I have to keep it floored and finally enough trickles in to start it...Then it is fine for another 3 months. Nissan said there was a service notice of some sort on the fuel pump, and "adjusted" it. My mechanic says there is nothing wrong with fuel pump and that the computer codes read fine. Nissan says the only thing left it could be is the computer chip....
anyone else have this prob??? If not, can you point me to the other Sentra message board??? I can't find it....

only in cooler morning, eh? Is it hard to start or just won't even start? If it is hard to start then it might be the gas that is used in the winter.....

No...I live in Alabama...the Cooler morning of summer will produce same result....that would be about 70F.
It starts, but only after flooding/flooring the thing for 5 mins........so...I dont think it is the gas....but thx for the info

We used to have a 95 GXE as well..... no problems up to 80k.... sold it. That is a strange issue for the Sentra. Possibly needs new battery???

I had a 95 GXE and sold it last year with 100,000 miles on it, only thing i needed fixed was a sensor,
#1178 of 2065 Which is quicker, 2002 SE-R or SE-R Spec V
Oct 26, 2001 (12:54 pm)
I look at power at the wheel...
SE-R shod with lighter 195/55-16" (24.45" OD)
Spec V shod with heavier 215/45-17" (24.62" OD)
I'd really like to see a comparison at the dyno and the track.

Also the slightly heavier curb weight of the
Spec V. I would predict that there's virtually no difference in acceleration.
#1180 of 2065 Towing w/ the Sentra
Nov 07, 2001 (3:21 pm)
Hi all -
I'm looking into replacing a small truck w/ an economy car and need to know Nissan's recommendations for towing w/ a new Sentra GXE w/ automatic. My sailboat+trailer combined weight is about 500# and I wouldn't be towing anything heavier. Anybody willing to check your manual?

It is standard for small cars 1000lbs including passengers, cargo weight and towed stuff.
