...and everything is hooked back up (all connectors, fuel lines, vacuum lines, etc) and triple checked. Followed Ford shop manual procedure for the work, but now the car won't start. It cranks but won't fire. Vented fuel rails and they are full. The fuel pump is working. I am lost. Is there some kind of "reset" sequence that I don't know about? Could it be the crank sensor? It worked when I took it out and cleaned it, I even checked to make sure it was a good complete circuit before I re-installed it. please advise...

Finally ended up chasing all the wires and found the pins for the crank position sensor were pushed out of the big connector at the brake booster. hope this might help someone Replies to this message: euphonium (Jul 03, 2008 9:42 am)

I have a white 94 Grand Marquis, the car ran perfect until it started with a light tremble between 35-45 mph.I changed the oil, oil filter, gas filter put new spark plugs nothing helped then i put new spark plug cables, and everything was alot better, but still a light tremble, it goes away when I step on the gas, but its coming back, it almost seems like its burning the cables too quickly, or I dont know maybe something with the transmission, I honestly dont recall when was the last time they changed the trans oil, i know its not as often as it is for the motor oil. dont know, but would like to;cause im FED UP with these mechanics that charged my mom $500 for changing I dont know what the heck. Replying to: knilgnissim (Jul 03, 2008 11:54 am) sounds like your experiencing the classic transmission 'shutter'. Change your tranny fluid with mercon v and that should fix your problem. It did for me, used to surge between 30-40. Here is how to do it

My wife and I recently inherited this car from her parents. It ran great until a couple weeks ago when it had a rough idle. It only lasted for one trip in town and ran fine the next day. A couple days ago it began to idle rough again. The check engine light came on and it soon had a strong sulfur type smell. I'm not at all familiar with this car and I'm wondering if there is something fairly obvious I should be looking for. Any ideas? Thanks for any information.
