I actually have two quotes, one at $17,995 and one at $17,950 for basically the same car. Brand new GS, not including Tax, title, license. The $17,950 one has heated mirors and traction control as listed options on the Sticker that they attached to the email. The prices are real. And I guess, from what you are stating, real good. These cars must not be moving at all.

overview of the grand marquis L.S. by dashpast

I am the proud owner of my fourth grand marquis L.S.. I buy the car with 2 years use with 18.000 miles. I had a 85,92,99,04 and two months ago a 2006.

If the car doesn't have dual exhausts I put them on plus use a K and N air filter.

The 2004 had the factory dual exhaust and the handing suspension...a faster machine but the air suspension is problematic thats why I traded it in because to fix the air suspension can be expensive.

Real life mileage 12-15 in city and 25 -27 on highway with the k and n filter the computer says 32 ??? It is a quiet dependable car only 2 dislikes the leg room in the rear seats are a joke....the new Nissan versa has better leg room.....the 4.6 is ok with factory dual exhaust...did a deal with my ford part man!!! The 4.6 that was in the maurauder should be the standard engine.

BUY USED there are many now in the system because the rental companies use them...check the car with the automobile club 100.00 usually it will be worth your while

As a real car nut and a reader of car and driver , motor trend automobile and road and track ...I think this is one of the best cars on the market period !!!!

Yes this machine needs a serious update....maybe the Ford interceptor concept car??? I really can't say but it is a very dependable car and if treated properly will give years of trouble free ownership

Buy new by ionosphere1

I was thinking of a used one, but with the big rebate they have and me being an X-plan buyer, I chose to get a new one with the intention of keeping it a long time. If Ford drops this and the Lincoln Town Car, there will be no big rwd sedans with front bench seats anymore, and since this is the type of car I want, I think I'm smart to get a new one and keep it a long time. I'm still floored that even Cadillac stopped making a car like this a long time ago. Sheesh.

I recently got a 2005 Grand Marquis and I absolutely love that car! I am a college student, and catch more than a few "granny car" remarks, but I can blow your v6 mustang anyday hotshot. Anyways, was wondering if about 17 mpg sounds about right, I had a car before that got 30mpg and the 17 scared me but thats avg for these cars isnt it?

Hi maryb88!
I have a 1996 Marquis, was already the same engine etc, wonderful (and safe) car and the milage is about average I would say! If you drive it easy with the cruise on the highway, 24-25 is no problem! I drive it in Germany also in heavy stop and go citytraffic often, this way, I occasionally get 12-14 mpg! But I love to see the faces of all those Volkswagens and Smarts when I smoke them with my big boat ;o)! My Parents have a 2006, their average is about 17-19 with a lighter food ;o)! By the way, they are happy it is able to use E85 (ethanol), as the price of gas in Germany is around 6 $ a gallon and the ethanol gallon is around 4 $ ( High german taxes)!
Be happy to live in the still free USA!! Have fun!

My 2008 car says it has been getting 13.8 mpg. I only have about 170 miles on it so far and do not know if it has to be driven more to get accurate readings.

I do not know how long it takes to build the car once they start, do you?

About an hour - building the car isn't where the time is. Queueing into production with special orders does, and shipping does. But once they decide to build it, it's done in one day.

I'd never do this again....waiting 4 months for a car. I had sold my car 1 week after ordering the new one, so I was without a car for 4 months minus 1 week. Was tough, but now I'm in car heaven with my new Merc.

1997, Wixom, MI it took one hour to produce 11 Mark VIII's and it took one hour to assemble 33 Town Cars. Computer Sequential Production enabled that.
