You are in the Sedans Forum. Your Hosts are pat & karens

What is this discussion about? Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, Jaguar XJ-Series, Lexus LS 460, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Volkswagen Phaeton, Maserati Quattroporte, Mercedes-Benz CL-Class, Sedan

Let's try to define this forum as being limited to luxury performance vehicles where the mainstream version in a typical configuration has an MSRP of at least $60k.

A luxury vehicle with a base price of $59k qualifies because it would typically be bought with some additional equipment, bringing the MSRP over $60k.

Vehicles like the E, 5, A6, M, or GS, even if available in certain versions over $60k, don't qualify because they are cars from companies that have higher end cars in their lineups.

I hope Merc comes back soon.

4.4 seconds sounds about right. A serious engine.

Those wheels look to me like something I would expect on an Infiniti M45.

And with those last 4 words, you hint at the real reason for the HELC slowdown.

With hosts like that I doubt I will have much time running the Bobcat BTW, neither the Bobcat or the Saab will be visible from the public road, not even the house for that matter. I actually missed the driveway entrance altogether the first time I went there. I had a 75ft driveway with the house where I was living a few years ago, but this 200+ft "trail" in the woods, before hitting a 75ft diameter circular where the structures are located, is something else. That's why the Babcat will be necessary to begin with; the Saab would be hopeless when snow storm hits as it had plenty difficulty struggling up the 75ft straight one-way driveway a few years ago after heavy snow. The modern HELC's are only beginning to be re-acquainted with vehicle height. OTOH, it won't be long though before they get to the height of R class or the pre-1970's Rolls sedans.

In the Chicago area - BMW dealer has a NEW leftover 2006 750i. They want it off the lot and willing to deeply discount. I'm having a hard time finding new pricing/invoice info on '06's. Looking to negotiate a steep discount, then a great lease. The car's sticker as follows:

Car $71,800
Luxury Seating
Premium Sound
Comfort Access
Satellite
Rear Shade
Total MSRP $79,990

Any thoughts on price to offer?

I haven't been to this forum in days.

What happened to merc?

We fought a lot last year in the RS4 forum. It was entertaining. He's quite bright.

Start at $65K and go up. Don't go past $72,000.

That may be a bit aggressive, but I'm an aggressive person.

Invoice is around 13% off MSRP so if you consider that we are 4 months into the new calendar year, I would add another 1/3 to that which brings it to 17.33% off at $66,128. That's the MOST I would pay. Add incentives similar to those they have had in the past and that price could plummet even more, to the tune of maybe $60K. That's what I would offer and if they ask what your offer is based on explain what I have just said. Also, throw in the fact that the car has already depreciated because of its age and that the 7-series isn't a hot seller to begin with.

Anywho, did anyone catch the LS Hybrid (LS600h) commercial during SportsCenter?

438HP Hybrid. The ad more or less compares it to dragsters with jet engines.

Referred to as "The New Fast", it is shown blurring the landscape, quietly.

Doc, it was the good TagMan that mentioned you recently.

Now on to your tings... World car is a terrific award, and credit where credit is due. The LS600hL will set new standards, IMO. An amazing car, no doubt. But, only 438 HP? How come?

But...Yes you heard me, BUT... even though the LS600hL is a hybrid, it did NOT get the 2007 World Green Car award at the New York Auto Show.

The car that received the 2007 World Green Car Award is a MERCEDES BENZ. That's right...
The Mercedes E320 BlueTec DIESEL received the 2007 World Green Car Award.

This car proves what is about to be the biggest surprise to hit the marketplace... namely the resurection of the diesel engine in the United States.

As I've been saying, "A diesel revolution due to diesel evolution". The new tougher EPA fuel economy ratings for 2008 will strongly favor the diesels, but hammer the hybrids. Hybrids will be forced to "sell" the performance aspect of their system, while the diesels are already known for their massive torque and will become known as the "greenie" choice, and EPA champions of terrific fuel economy. Not to mention that they can burn bio-diesel, which will attract the American heartland.

Get ready Doc... the war is about to start. In 2008, the diesel will start its ascention. And the announcement of the 2007 World Green Car Award is just the first shot over the bow of the hybrid boat.

Nice to hear from you!
