What is this discussion about? Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, Jaguar XJ-Series, Lexus LS 460, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Volkswagen Phaeton, Maserati Quattroporte, Mercedes-Benz CL-Class, Sedan

Let's try to define this forum as being limited to luxury performance vehicles where the mainstream version in a typical configuration has an MSRP of at least $60k.

A luxury vehicle with a base price of $59k qualifies because it would typically be bought with some additional equipment, bringing the MSRP over $60k.

Vehicles like the E, 5, A6, M, or GS, even if available in certain versions over $60k, don't qualify because they are cars from companies that have higher end cars in their lineups.

Replying to: dhamilton (Nov 13, 2006 3:10 pm) My guess is that it's gonna come down to the Q7, and the X5, with the X5 winning by a small margin when she's due for another ride.   IMO an X5 without the sport and dynamic handling options is an X5 not worth buying . With these two options the X5 will have the driving dynamics that is as close to a performance car as an SUV can be.

Replying to: dewey (Nov 14, 2006 5:00 pm) ...the Porsche Caymnan and Boxster are both assembled just like the X3 by Magna Steyr in Austria with many Magna parts.   The Boxster and Cayman are assembled by Valmet in Uusikaupunki, Finland. Sorry to hear about your injury.   I myself broke my back almost three years ago and I will tell you during that time I chose to drive my wife's automatic MB300D instead of my manual BMW. For the first time I learned how painful a clutch could be.   A Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Targa with or without tiptronic sounds like my future dream car.   With such a RX your doctor certainly does sound very qualified.

Replying to: designman (Nov 14, 2006 7:51 pm) My bad   Magna Steyr assembles the MB E Class 4 matic, G Class and the X3 in Austria   I could have sworn I read somewhere that Magna Steyr won a contract from Porsche to assemble both Cayman and Boxster vehicles.   Thanks for the correction!
