High End Luxury Cars

Let's try to define this forum as being limited to luxury performance vehicles where the mainstream version in a typical configuration has an MSRP of at least $60k.
A luxury vehicle with a base price of $59k qualifies because it would typically be bought with some additional equipment, bringing the MSRP over $60k.
Vehicles like the E, 5, A6, M, or GS, even if available in certain versions over $60k, don't qualify because they are cars from companies that have higher end cars in their lineups.

You can bash Lexus (or BMW), and that's fine, but be accurate, that's all I ask. Lexus still has work to do. In spite of my recent HELMY award, I'll bash Lexus, just not as quickly as I'd bash a desperately flailing critic. They're making the right moves, but misteps abound (IS350 tranny, soft SC, not producing the HPX, soft GS, general overproduction). If you want to turn on a company under my wing, you'll release "The Beast", not me. DrFill

I can't make it next year . . . I likely won't be that "recent" a poster any more, and I'm sure not gonna topple those other guys. They're just too terrific and will deserve the award FOREVER. Oh well, I'll covet it while it lasts . . . and spend my bonus, of course. TagMan |

Replying to: tagman (May 31, 2006 12:45 pm) Reason is that Howard doesn't think the 7 belongs in HELM so I had to leave it out, out of deference to the ultimate BMW fans... Can't have it both ways, I suppose |

Ahhh, I got it: High End Luxury Marque Yentas (HELMY)... apologies to our resident VW/Porsche officianado - Designman for his yentas coinage. |
