I am looking at purchasing a '93 Prizm LSi that has less than 24k miles for 4995. It's very clean (almost flawless)...does this sound reasonable?

thats extremely low miles and at that price its a steal, i still would make sure it had its reg mainance though, some parts are more affected by just sitting and not bein driven, like exhaust, rotors, body drain channels, i bought my 95 with 80k for more than that, would be excited on having a very low mleage one like that, it will take care of u , good luck these are very reliable trouble free cars!! oh u mentioned lsi it should have the 1.8 motor and some power options even makesm it a better deal

Bought a used 94 Prizm with just 6200 miles (standard/3 spd) for $6000. Two things -- is there no trunk light? and rear window defogger isn't working (replaced fuse but that wasn't the problem). Where do we look next to fix this thing? I don't have a repair manual yet with the wiring layout. Thanks.

Too Much Engine Noise by akb1

In 1999 I bought a 96 Geo Prizm with 33,000 miles on it. I commute on freeway. Now this car has about 47,000 miles. I noticed that engine is pretty noisey at about 75 MPH.

I also have a 94 Sentra that has been extremely good to me for 130,000 (I will put another 30K - 35K by end of 2002 And perhaps retire it and start using Geo). The Sentra with its high mileage is still less noisy at the same speed.

Do Geos make more noise than Sentras?

I have been thinking to take it to the dealer or auto shop?

Any thoughts?

Automatic or manual, and if automatic, is it a 3-speed or a 4-speed. The 3-speed auto forces the engine to rev higher at highway speeds and as a result is noisier.
