Hi, welcome to our Forums.
It sounds like you are looking for the kinds of discussions we have on our News & Views board. We're just talking about the Town Car here.
I need to ask you not to use rice-related vehicle terms. I know you meant no offense, but since they arose from an ethnic slur we don't use them here in our Forums. If you have any questions about this, feel free to email me.
Meanwhile, let's let this discussion get back to the Town Car. Again, welcome and enjoy our discussions!

It shows how lost Ford and GM are, that it took a German company to uncover the amazing fact that Americans like V-8, RWD cars.
And yet Ford is in some mad dash to replicate GM's 1990's near death march of an all V-6 FWD line up. Sad.

2008? Hell then I still have time to trade in my 1990 LTC. The posting made it sound it was going FWD next year!

Let's hope you are premature in your indictment, scooter, and that someone at Ford can get in touch with what Lincoln is supposed to be again, and bring out some product. And, then, let's hope gas isn't $5,00 a gallon, and that we aren't wishing our V-8s were 4 bangers.
#1259 of 1806 Would the following be printed on a window sticker?

For a book I'm writing, one of my characters is reading aloud from the window sticker of a 1978 Lincoln Town Car with a 460 CID 4-barrel carburetor.
Would the following words have actually been printed on the sticker?
“460 CID 4-barrel carburetor"
Or would this be something someone could only determine by looking under the hood?

460 Cubic Inch Displacement is the engine size.
4 barrel Carburetor is the type of carb.
The window sticker woiuld say that but not in that format. The engine size and the carb would be listed separately, or it would say something like "460 CID V-8 engine with 4-barrel carburetor"

Would the carb have been listed at all if it wasn't optional or part of a performance package - neither of which was the case for this car?
Anybody old enough to remember would be around 50 and therefore has already forgotton anyway, so the book could say anything reasonable and nobody would be the wiser.

Ford would have referred to the optional engine as a 460-4V and the standard engine was the 400-2V
(The real name is a 4 venturi carburetor, not 4 barrel)
