Since Manheim has not had many go through the auctions, what do you think - about 5 or 6 weeks away from trading. The new once will be $65000+ a few bucks.
 
Forgot to mention that the car is here in southeast Florida - 2013 diamond white E350 Mercedes sport sedan.

Assuming no runs, hits, or errors and cleans up real well, you'd be looking at spending around $15k to buy a similar one from a dealer. So I'd say start it out at $14,995, which should be lower than all retailers in your area. Cut it loose for anything north of $13,500.

Thanks. My guess is that clean wholesale is about 48-49K, and since my cars are a step above new, he gives me a few thousand more.
 
As far as knowing more than you, it all depends on the topic and the question. With the 2013's quickly evaporating, that gives my trade a possible reprieve in May. Only time will tell.

Last week a friend told me that he was able to buy an S class Mercedes with low miles at a great price. Anyway, it was about 24 % of sticker for a 3 year old car at the time. He had a friend buy it for him at the auction. This wasn't a recent purchase but a few years ago.
 
My question is was this an aberration? Specific to the S class? Or is there a huge mark up on all Mercedes Benz cars?
 
With that in mind, what would a 2010 ML 350 with AWD, NAV and low miles in Pittsburgh, PA go for from an independent dealer?

Hello, all, I am in the market for a cheap used car that's relatively good on gas. I'm looking at two vehicles and curious to know their wholesale, trade, and dealer retail values. Both are one owner cars.
 
Flint, Mi
2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS(non turbo charged)
2 door coupe
4 cylinder, automatic
Fwd
Mileage:135,000
Color: Red/black
Major Options: I believe the only thing worth mentioning is that has a pioneer system equipped, everything else seems to be stock for the trim.
Condition:
  Very nice considering age.
  Tires - n/a
  Brakes - n/a
  Maintenance - history of oil changes, all other recommended service unknown at this point.
 
2005 Honda Civic LX SE
Body Style: 4 door sedan
Engine: 4cylinder, automatic
Driveline: Fwd
Mileage:101,000
Color: Silver/grey
Major Options: Nothing more than what the trim offers.
Condition:
  Great exterior and interior.
  Tires - n/a
  Brakes n/a
  Maintenance - Well taken care of, all service done except the water pump and timing belt plus related work associated with that job.

Who knows. At that specific time, that specific place, that specific car. But, just to give a clue, a 2010 S550 with average miles is around $50k a the block right now.
 
Looks like quite a few ML350s in PA have been in "above average" condition and commanding a bit of a premium. Looking at average condition examples, I see $27500 for a black one with 27k miles, $27250 for another black with 30k, $30k for a black with 30k ... probably an option difference there. Then there is another larger group with 32k-34k miles for right around $30k.
 
So I'd say $30k is the sweet spot. By the time a dealer gets it home, cleans it up, puts new rubber on it, it hits the lot with a $35k asking price and $32-33k should put it in your driveway.

Cobalt - $4k wholesale/trade, $4500-5k at the block, and $7k-7500 fair retail.
 
Numbers are exactly the same for the Civic.

Ah, thanks very much. I actually thought the Cobalt would be 500-1000 less as a trade in due to it being domestic and high mileage. Happy I asked so I could approach the situation intelligently. The Civic didn't surprise me.
