Getting an itch for a new to me car. Wondering what these are going for?

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland
4wd
V6
about 30,000 miles
usual options including Nav
in Pittsburgh, PA

For some reason I like these. I just want something different than a Pilot which to me is the smarter but less exciting buy. Does anyone have any thoughts on these?

Floating right around $33k at the block. Is that a black one? If so, it might be the Summit model with 31,403 miles and sold for $32,900 back on Nov 9th.

Thanks. I love the interior but not the price.

I do like the JGC as well...but the price point is pretty high compared to actual luxury SUV's. Maybe after another year or so when the depreciation really kicks in. We bought a new MDX with Tech (nav) for around $40k back in August. Worked out to only be a couple grand more than a loaded Pilot and far more vehicle to me. I was seeing new JGC and Durangos in the same price range! $33k+ for a used JGC...not really a deal unless you need more off-roading/towing perhaps.

This is a car im semi interested in buying. It is at CarMax listed for $26998. I'm curious about prices of these wholesale at auction for negotiations.

I also have a question about the AutoCheck. It states: Fleet, Rental, or Lease use Records. Also shows a Loan/Lien Record. So this car could have been a previous Rental vehicle or Leased vehicle....is that right? The Loan/Lien record description indicates in some cases this will be caused by a mechanic puttting a lien on the vehicle. What should I make of this?

I'm not really sure on that loan/lien thing.
Yes, leased or rental vehicle. I don't know of many places renting 5-series, though, so probably a lease.

There are SO MANY of these out there. I don't believe Carmax negotiates. The car is right around $22k at dealer auction. If its real clean and needs nothing, $24,500 would be a comfortable pricepoint for me, personally.

Thanks for the info. I am in SF Bay Area and we don't have CarMax locally so this vehicle is about 90 miles away. I am not familiar with CarMax, but doing a little reserach seems to show that yes indeed they dont negotiate. Well so much with that. I like to negotiate. I do see 3 in my local area that are CPO's asking $29K. How much premium would you add to that $24.5K figure if it is a clean CPO.

Did it actually say "Trade-in Value" or simply "Value"? Dealers are in business to make money. They try not to sell a vehicle for the same amount of money that they paid for it.

I think mainstream autos that are loaded have become too expensive. There isn't enough of a difference between them and an Acura or Infiniti.
