I am a bmwCCA member. Most events that the local chapter runs are on Saturdays. I work. Even I think they run lime rock every year. No racing on Sundays lime rock.

Hi all,
 
Would love it if someone could give me some auction info on my car.
 
I'm in Long Island, NY.
I am looking to trade in a Silver 2004 Volkswagen Golf GLS Automatic 4DR.
Heated seats and a moonroof.
It has 79k miles.
One of the latches to fold down the rear seat doesn't work, but otherwise it is in good condition.

May be selling my Fiance's 2008 Elantra.
 
GLS,
35000 miles
Great overall shape, original tires 50%, interior as new.
Bad Carfax. 9K damage when new.
South Jersey (near Philly)
 
I'm thinking maybe listing at 10,500 and take 9K. Or.... just get a buy bid from a dealer and take 8500.
 
Am I in the ballpark?
 
The pain is we still owe a little on it, and that always poses problems with PP sale.

miles around 80,000 or so?
 
Having trouble figuring out a price on this one because the miles are fairly low for the year. Dealers have them listed for about 9000 but this one is private party.

a few feelers, a couple of low balls without ever seeing it, and 1 guy that came out, seemed to like it, but I have not heard back from.
 
I do have someone from Delaware that was real anxious to see it. Emailed with him earlier in the week and he wanted to come out tonight or tomorrow, but I will be surprised to actually hear from him today.
 
I expected a lot more interest, especially after I dropped the price 1K, and put it on cars.com too.
 
Oh well. Live and learn. I guess I should have tried to sell it before buying the new car!

Assuming no runs, hits, errors, and maintenance up to date, knee deep in rubber, etc, a dealer will probably hit you between $3500-$4k on it.
 
Sounds like a good private party car. $6495 asking, and $5500 taking.
