I need to show my buddy how to use the internet He was at a dealer and looking at a 2004 Volvo XC90 T6 (turbo). Zip code 15237 62K Miles Tires about 1/2 worn Has leather, roof, 3rd row Paint is in good condition...some minor scratches overall. Interior is ok to good...he said it looks like it needs a good cleaning. Dealer said he would sell for $14,500 I read up on these and the T6 has a transmission (GM 4 speed I think) that has been known to fail. He said the Carfax had no recalls or repairs. I thought it seems like a good deal...but maybe the tranny problems are bigger than I read about? Anyway...thoughts on the value of this vehicle?

Replying to: volvomax (Aug 16, 2009 1:44 pm) I guess the question is...would you buy it at this price (13-13.5K), given the known tranny issues with the T6? I am guessing I should not "recommend" it??? It seems like a lot of car for the money...but a risky proposition. Anybody know where to find units sold/problems reported data? Just curious the percentage of 2004 T6 transmissions that have actually failed...
