Real World Trade-In Value by camatt1

I have a '2007, Ford Explorer (4WD) Eddie Bauer with 20,000 miles on it and
wondered what the ACTUAL REAL WORLD TRADE-IN VALUE is to a Dealership,
such as Ford might be? The vehicle condition is excellant and maintenance records
are available and have been regular as required.

Does anyone have any recent experience?

why are saab's so hard to trade in? why are they not worth much to the dealer?

This is an old, old story: poor resale value of saabs--if people look at the repair records on CR, they get turned off. And no warranty left?

But yours has really low miles. I'm not an expert, but I'd say take good pics, & put it on CL, maybe ebay? etc. for......$5495-ish?. The low miles could sell it for someone with $5-$6K to spend.....

Those numbers are about right. These are really fine FWD cars that don't get their proper due.

On your other question - from what I can see (and I'm not a dealer), the market is in fact slow as people are, rightly, scared at present.

These are the details for my TRADE IN VALUE REQUEST in our '07 Ford Explorer
"Eddie Bauer" Model.
                     Location: Cleveland, Ohio area
Vehicle: '07 Ford Explorer "Eddie Bauer" (4WD)
         Current Mileage: 20,000 mi
                    Engine: 4.6L V8
           Transmission: automatic (4WD)
                    Extra: Tow Package
     Exterior Color: Blue
     Interior Leather: Grey
     Maintenance: Regular Scheduled Dealership
              Brakes: Good
Condition "Ext": Good (Hand washed regularly)
Condition "Int": Very Good (no children/pets)
  Insurance Claims: No accidents/dents etc...

I hope this is helpful in obtaining the REAL WORLD TRADE-IN
VALUE as it seems Dealerships are very "soft" on what they'll
give you even a well maintained SUV such as mine!

You are probably closer to $10k than $11k on a trade.

Dealerships are "soft" for a reason my friend.
People are willing to buy SUV's but the price has to be right.
Especially on domestic SUV's.

Your truck should bring $16,000 on a trade.

Not only the repair history, but the fact that there is a very very limited market for SAAB's in general.
Few dealers and few retail buyers make for a weak market for the car.
One reason Honda's and Toyota's do well is because you have widespread interest in the product. Both at the dealer and customer level.
