First, I'd go find out if it is for sale and what exactly it is before you worry about what to offer.

SAAB's are hard to trade for.
Car's probably only worth $3-4,000 to a dealer.
I'd try and sell it privately.

"Above Average" you are looking $18-19,000
These cars have mileage in the teens.

30k cars are running in the $15-16k territory.

Wholesale is $6,000

I'd ask around $10,000 for starters.
Say $9995 OBO.

why are saab's so hard to trade in? why are they not worth much to the dealer? what could you expect from a private party sale?

My research suggests $10-11K trade-in, $11-13 private party retail. Thoughts?

"Down market" reduction attempt on trade-in? by dogsonboard
Jan 19, 2009 (6:07 pm)

Am hearing from dealers that it's a "down market" for used-car sales. One even showed me a trade-in value sheet with $1K deducted for "market down."

Is this likely the negotiating ploy I believe it to be -- or are used cars not moving?
