That's with basic equipment, so they go up near $30k loaded. I saw one used 2007 for $20k and it was loaded, that was a bargain. I almost jumped on it. It was the right color, trans, had leather seats with heaters, everything. I guess I just chickened out. I've seen used 2006s as low as $12k or so, but most are $15k. volvomax - just to get an idea, what to 2006 and 2007 Miata soft tops go for across the auction block? I'm sure the hard tops are much higher, so what about those? They only came out in 2007 so it's possible not many have hit the auctions.

Replying to: dtownfb (Jan 14, 2009 7:51 pm) just take your tax laws into account. If I trade a $10k car in NJ, I basically get credited for $10,700 thanks to the tax credit. So I wouldn't bother private selling if I thought $11k was the limit.

Condition: Few dings on the body. Interior is in very good condition. Tires - brand new last year with only 10,000 miles on them. Brakes - still in good order at my last tune up less than 3000 miles ago. Maintenance - is all up to date & I have paperwork. Other: Backed her into a pole I didn't see in July on the left rear. Wondering what my trade-in is really worth. Most of the online sites are clueless about the diesel VW. Location: St. Louis, MO Y/M/M: 2005.5 VW Jetta TDI (this is the "New Jetta" that was introduced mid-year, with the current A5 body style) Body Style: 4dr Engine: 4 cyl turbodiesel, direct-sequential gearbox (DSG) = automated manual transmission; real-world 40 mpg combined average (documented) Driveline: FWD Mileage: 76,500 Color: Dark blue/black "leatherette" Major Options: 6 disc in dash CD/MP3 player; heated front seats, washer nozzles and mirrors; dual-zone automatic climate control; rain-sensing wipers; automatic headlights; auto-dimming mirror; side body and side curtain airbags; ABS; electronic stability control Condition: Few very minor dings on the body. Interior is in very good condition. Everything works. Tires - about two years old Brakes - still good; changed fluid about 6 months ago Maintenance - all up to date with records Other: I wrecked the front end when it was 3 months old but it was repaired good as new and been great since. Replaced broken windshield about a year and a half ago. Defective dual-mass flywheel was replaced a couple of months ago under extended warranty. Thanks for thoughts!
