That's about what I figured for a newer car.   Usually I see the A/C statement in the old beater cars where $700 is the bulk of the price. Most sellers would fix a busted A/C on a newer model. I don't think I would buy a car newer than 5 y/o if the A/C was busted.   Thanks to all of you for the info.

All, Any help on this one:   2003 Nissan Maxima SE Leather & Sunroof 70k miles tires fairly new floormats are a little dirty, but rest of interior is great. has some paint chips on hood and doors.   NADA Avg trade is 7650 + 825 (lthr&sunroof) = 8475. Replying to: woodyww (Oct 13, 2008 1:24 pm) The total cost to repair was expensive but I can't recall. I'm still baffled at how small incident out of parking lot can cost so much. Good thing I was fully insured... It was not classified as salvage so I still have my original title.
