This offer is from a dealer ? he is asking $23,900 for this used 2008 accord EX-L 4cyl. sedan. Seem like way too much for a used 2008 with 19,150 miles on it. What would be a good offer for it ? Please help. Thanks.

trade in value for 2003 325XI by evajon

Hi all, new to the forum. Trying to trade in my 2003 BMW 325XI for a 2008 Mazda5. Bimmer has 117,000 miles, dark blue, tan leather int., in pretty good shape overall. TMV says trade in value between 10-11K, how true is that in the real world? I've never traded in a vehicle before, how much can you haggle with a dealer on the trade in value? I still owe 13K, but having trouble finding buyers at that price.

Thanks in advance for any guidance/advice.

I would have bet you are right.
However, wholesale has been running $21,000
So, $23,900 isn't ridiculous.

Tough car to haggle on.
A Mazda dealer isn't going to have any interest in retailing it.

Trade is probably $8-9,000

Edmunds TMV for a new one is right at about $25000. Who in their right mind would pay even close to $23900? But then again, I've always heard that used Hondas and Toyotas get all the "stupid" money.

I too am considering a vehicle such as this one.

Well, I have to disagree - you can buy a new one for the same money. This is just another example of why a late model Honda is poor used car value.

Well, if volvomax says it's 21K wholesale, I say 22K, reasonable?
