SLC, UT 2002 VW Passat GLS 1.8t 5-spd 112k miles options: heated leather, monsoon sound, power moonroof, alloys good condition, no accident history or damage KBB and Edmunds are showing right around $6k, which is what I asked for at two dealers earlier this week. Replies were for $3800 and $4300, respectively. One actually tried to tell me that he was close to my request b/c the $2000 he came down off MSRP on his car plus the $3800 for my trade equaled $5800, which is "how trade in is actually calculated." Anyway, what do you all think? I have purchased several cars in the past, but never with a trade-in that I still owed money on, so I'm looking for a little advice. thanks, TF

Saw an ad for this at a local upper-end used car lot (big place). In frigid S. NJ (near Philly) 2001 BMW 330ci convertible. Automatic, all loaded up with the usual goodies. SIlver, gray leather. 68K. They are asking $16,995. assuming it is clean s the board of health and not hits/runs/errors, what is a reasonable price for this puppy?

yeah, I need that tiny back seat! I actually need a bigger one, but you (in this case, my kids legs) can't have everything! Although once my son gets his own car (June) it will be less of an issue. I would be getting to use as my everyday car, not a toy. I also did the Miata thing, and just don't fit, and my back issues haven't gotten any better.

Replying to: ateixeira (Jan 04, 2008 6:55 am) Stickguy, do you REALLY want a convertible? I just can't see spending even $15k on a 7-year-old bimmer with nearly 70k miles. Seems like a big stretch to me. |
