Hi, I would love to buy a new Passat. Has anyone had a good experience with VW dealers in Central Florida (like Orlando or Tampa or Jacksonville)? Also, do you think I can get the competitive prices on the 2001.5 like I've read about here? Thanks, |
|
| Probably not... | |
|
Probably so--but only if you do your homework and shop around. Check out vwvortex.com under the Passat forum for other examples of well-prepared shopping. |

Burn3 Thanks for the information! I've seen good things posted about Rusty Wallace overall. Would you mind sharing what model and options you bought along with pricing tips? Thanks! |

So, Did you ever get a Passat yet? Bill 2001.5 V6 Silver |

Nope, not yet. I'm waiting for the right moment. I haven't made a final decision to Passat or not. In the meantime, I'm just hanging around and chiming in... And, just one minute here--I thought that you bought that Passat for a relative?! If so, maybe you should drop that "cute li'l sig"--you wouldn't want people to think that you are an innocent VW enthusiast, and forget that you're a big bad dealer |

I thought I would pass along below part of an e-mail message I received this morning. It too comes from Rusty Wallis VW in the Dallas area. It looks like VW is dealing big time on 2001 Passat's as the 2001.5's are delivered in greater volume. By the way, I've researched 4 VW dealers in the Dallas area, and Rusty Wallis is offering the best deals on the 2001.5 Passat's. Peter VW has provided us with some dealer incentives to move the old body style which has made this possible. However, the incentives are only available to us till the end of Feb. I look forward to being able assist you with your purchase decision. Sincerely, Murali Narendran Internet Manager Rusty wallis VW |

Sorry, I left off the most critical part of the message...opps. Peter Our new internet pricing on all in stock 2001 Passats is $1750 below dealer invoice. VW has provided us with some dealer incentives to move the old body style which has made this possible. However, the incentives are only available to us till the end of Feb. I look forward to being able assist you with your purchase decision. Sincerely, Murali Narendran Internet Manager Rusty wallis VW |

I live in South Carolina, in the Upstate and notice not a lot of them are willing to even come close to Edmunds TV. Can anyone recommend a WV dealer within any of these states who is fair and willing to deal? And should I just send mails or axes asking for the dealers best deal? So far I've been to Vi Barley in Spartanburg and a WV dealer in Greenville, SC and few seem willing to fudge from the MSRP. I'm interested in the GSL V6 with the Luxury and Leather package. Any advice would be appreciated. |

| I am looking at the 2001.5, not the 2001's. What a difference in styling!!! Love the 'freshening' on the 2001.5 Passat . . . . Be still my wallet . . . | |
