I'm looking to see if anyone has any tips on recent purchases... I'm looking for a 2009 Passat Sedan, no options, just the Komfort package. I'm in the western suburbs of Chicago. I've got to think there are some deals to be had, given the state of the industry right now. MSRP is 28,300 + 700 destination charge. Edmunds has a TMV of 27,013, invoice of 26,436 (not incl. dest. charge).

Replying to: mediaguy2 (Dec 20, 2008 10:02 pm) Did you end up leasing th 09 passat wagon? I'm trying to lease now....pretty much the same deal except they are trying to rope me in for 48 months. I would have thought with the economy in shambles they'd budge to 36 or 39 months...but not as of yet. Maybe now that it's month end, they will cave. Otherwise, I guess I'll wait for the next sign and drive event..... |

I am getting a 2.0T 2007 Service loaner (1.5 years old) with 20k miles for 17k. It is a LUX model and has all options possible other than navigation. I know the price is good when compared to a Carfax 1 Owner but the fact that it might not have been broken in properly creeps me. Any pointers on whether it is a good idea?

Have a Honda lease up in July, so I am starting to look around at what's next. Thinking of buying a Passat and saw VW has 0%/60 mos through the end of April. This is an attractive offer, but I haven't been paying attention to know if this is a "once in a lifetime" sort of deal from VW, or is it something they've been doing and will (hopefully) continue to do in the near future? Any insight from someone who has been keeping up on this would be appreciated. Thanks!
