Replying to: yalehan (Apr 19, 2006 3:16 pm) This must be a typo, there is no way a dealer made the deal for $0 down for $200/month tax included, 36 months. A simple lease calculation assuming around invoice sales price yields about $290/month for $0 down, 36 months, 10k miles per year.   This deal would be a total loser for the dealer. VW advertised deal is $269/month for same lease with $2k down, 12k miles per year, your variance would mean the dealer took a several thousand dollar loss on the car.   Make sure they didn't give you a Jetta or a very used Passat... For 2006 passat 2.0 package2, automatic, Rear Side Airbags my price estimate is:   CarsDirect price $26,876 - $1000 = $25876   maybe less - bluetooth not there, no ipod adapter etc...

Replying to: yalehan (Apr 21, 2006 5:48 pm) You only would not pay tax on the portion of the car cost offset by your trade in on a purchase, on a lease, your trade in becomes cap cost reduction (down payment) and you pay tax on the portion of the car you use (lease rent).   Anyway, you posted your deal, did not disclose all terms of the deal, so your information is of questionable value to those looking for experiences that might inform their own.   Even with a $3,500 trade in towards cap cost reduction, I find the $200/month for 36 months 10k/year on the 2006 Passat at $24k +, no tax charged, very suspicious, this deal sounds fishy and unlikely to me...

Just wanted to hear from others about the viability of this offer: It's a trade in on my 1995 Avalon xls, mileage 123K   the money factor is .00057 36 mo - $332 /mo, inc. all taxes (tot $11,952) MSRP 27,500 Buy out $15,512   any input would be appreciated

Just got my new Passat. Here were the numbers: 2006 2.0T, Auto, Pkg #1, Dynaoaudio, 48 months, 12,000 miles. VW pull up program, they paid the last 4 payments on my 2003 Passat lease.   Agreed upon value 26811.17 Gross Cap Cost 27386.17 500 customer loyalty, Adjusted cap caost 26886.17 Residual 14107.5 Rent charge 2341.33 $600 total drive off $315 a month $340 with tax. HOW DID I DO?

Hi everyone,   I see a lot of information on leasing a 2.0 but I want to buy one. Am in SW Pennsylvania and am looking at the 2.0T with the P2S Pacakge and 4A3 butt warmers the Blue Graphite color.   MSRP shows approx $27,455 with invoice according to Edmunds of $25,372 and TMV of $26,222.
