This is the deal I'm looking for! I just started looking last week and was hoping I could get them to go below invoice...I hadn't heard of anyone's deals except leases so far. Thanks for sharing.

Done Deal: 2.0T Lease Report by packerfan1

Just finished the paperwork on a new 2.0T under the structure of their aggressive lease promotion (good until 9/6... and its a darn good deal by itself, but even better with a little negotiation).

2006 Passat 2.0T, Black on Black, Tiptronic, Package #1 with Sirius, cold weather package, and the super-secret multi-function steering wheel "free production error" (thank you forum! )

MSRP $27,440. Invoice is $25,357. Add $280 in dealer ad & prep fees and I gave them $363 over invoice for arranging exactly what I wanted so the "Off the lot" selling price was an even $26,000 (I like this dealership and didn't fight too hard (other than being well informed), so I think readers could get $25,500 or better if you want to fight/shop for it or are flexible - which I wasn't on either count.)

Lease is 36 mos, 36,000 miles.
Only first payment and title/license fees at inception - $454.
No Down Payment / Cap Cost reduction.
Security deposit of $300 was waived (have 2 leases with VW Credit)
Acq fee of $595 was rolled into the lease.
$334.33 total monthly payment (incl 5.1% tax)

I'll miss my 2002 Passat 1.8T GLS, especially with the manual transmission, when that lease ends next week.. but I'm looking forward to this new 2006. Hope this info helps other shoppers. Good luck!

Pack

PS- ASK FOR them to find one with that multifunction steering wheel with the early production Package #1s!!! Its free and if they are like mine, the VW guys never heard of it.

-
2002 1.8T Passat GLS (retiring 9/6/05)
2004 1.8T Passat Wagon GLS
and now a new 2006 2.0T Passat

I mentioned this to the salesman at the local dealer here in South Charlotte and he said there is no way any dealer is doing that, they're selling like hot cakes. I don't believe him, so I would love to tell him exactly where they are giving these deals. Can you tell me what dealership you have heard of that is doing this? Would love to be able to use this as leverage, but without specifics the guy isn't buying it...

Thanks!

Steve, which dealership in Central NJ gave you that quote? Did they have a lot of stock? Could you share some of the other quotes and dealer names you received in NJ. Thanks.

I dealt primarily with David Michael VW in Freehold.
The lowest I got with them was pretty aggressive.
Package 2 (MSRP $28,415)
36 month lease
18K miles/year
$380/month (that includes tax)
$500 down

The other dealer was World VW in Neptune
Only got a phone quote and right off the bat, they would sell that same car (package 2, MSRP of $28,415) at $26,651.
36 month, 18k lease was $380/mo (includes tax) w/ $876 down.

While I didn't complete the deal at either place (still on the fence) David Michael had some appreciable inventory. I didn't get the impression World had a ton of cars sitting on the lot.
Hope this helps!

Just picked up my 06 Package #2 with Dynaudio for $26,885 . They seemed not to be too bothered by it and think that is the best price I could have gotten it for. Now I just got to wait for the VW A:D $1000 rebate form...

Thanks to info received from this board, I went in to look and ended up leasing a 2006 passat with package 2. I currently have a 2003 Passat V6 with all the bells and whistles. I was a little disappointed that there is no climate control, home link or 8 way adjustable seats.I was told this will all be available in the V6 model in Nov. Ironically they offer those options with the 2.0T Jetta. They must be trying hard to move the 2.0T passat as the numbers were actually lower for the Passat then they were for the 20T Jetta.I wont be picking up the car until tuesday Sept 6, so I can only give you the numbers that I can recall:

2006 Passat package 2 .No cap cost reduction, acquisition fee rolled into lease. $484 down. Monthly payment $321 tax included.

The dealer is Gunther Volkswagen in Coconut Creek Florida (Broward County)
They had about 15-20 Passats. Of course nobody can say if this deal will be extended past Sept. 6.
After I pick up the car I will post all the exact numbers

Sounds like a great deal. I was willing to put down a couple k to get out of my current 03 Passat lease for the 06 w/ Pkg 2. They would not bring the sticker down past 29k. I'm waiting a little bit longer, maybe 6 months for my lease to dwindle down ( I have 11 months left on a 4 year lease).

Way to go, I'll have to settle for the $750 A:D.

Btw, have you received your form yet? Definitely something to ask on Wednesday's live feed.

That's an excellent deal and a deal I will like to get. In DFW, the best number I got is $328/month for 2.0T auto with no option, 12 K miles for 4 years and I paid the t,t&l. Your deal is cheaper, tax included and with package 2 ($2500 value). Please tell me more about your lease.
