Yesterday, I purchased a 2006 Passat 2.0T with Package #1 w/XM Satellite Radio, 6 speed Triptronic, and cold weather package. Got a sweet deal!! 25,000 before taxes and fees. Sticker price was 27,440. So far, I love the car and have no complaints other than the manual is pretty thick!!

I have looked in all dealers by where I live and I have yet to see one with manual transmission. I am sure they will be arriving in the next few weeks if not months. Email Volkswagen directly and they will give you a response.

2006 2.0T Lease by steveholly

Hi folks.
Great group!
Have some lease quotes that I'd like to run by you.
I put quite a few miles on cars, so I was intrigued by these phone quotes from my local dealer in Central NJ:
2006 Passat 2.0T
Auto
Package 2

All quotes would have 1st month's payment, lease inception, tags, title etc. (totals about $1000) up front. No Cap cost. Monthly sales tax included.
12K - $350
15K - ~$370
18K - ~$385

Sales guy said VW is pretty motivated to get these rolling out the door.
Seems pretty aggressive.
Am I missing something or should I pounce on this??

According to Edmunds, pretty sure the MSRP is $28,415 (includes destination)
(Though I haven't confirmed w/ dealer - just probing for now)

I'm not sure of the lease program on the Passat, but those certainly look like reasonable numbers for a car of that MSRP...

If they include tax, and given that the due at signing is around $1000...

regards,

I am also looking into a similar deal.
What is included in the up front amount besides 1st month's payment, tags, title?
Acquisition fee or dealer fee?
Are these payments for 36 or 48 months?

It was a 36 month quote
And, while I haven't hammered out details yet (just ballparking right now), I'm assuming it includes:
1st month payment
Lease Deposit (not sure if refundable, but usually is)
Tags/title etc.
It does NOT include any Capital Cost reduction for the lease

I am almost certain that you could get one of these new Passat's for less than MSRP and closer to invoice. The lease deal VW has now is $289.00 with $2500 down. Even if you didn't want to put 2500 down you could still get a lower payment. The basic rule is every $1,000 you put down it lowers your payment $20....so....if you wanted $2,000 rolled into your payment it would come out to be $330.00+/-. Not sure what equipment difference there is, but the MSRP on your car and the lease deal car is not too substantial.....good luck.

I was able to purchase a 2006 2.0T with Pkg.#1 for $25,000...MSRP was $27,440...invoice was about 25,724..so yes..you can get a deal below invoice!!!
