Purchased for $33,700 + tax&tags. Sticker $41,700 Wes Greenway in Alexandria, Va. Great deal, nice guys. Pick up this weekend. Only issue was front brakes were warped and they are now replacing entire front brake system. Car had 60 miles on it. It sat in the showroom for most of the year. They are making me very happy with the service from the beginning. Rare for a dealership. I would recommend them highly. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE WEEKEND!!

Congrats on your new W8. I am sure you will be very happy with the purchase. How did the Rotors get warped with only 60 miles on the odometer?

What is the lowest price you are getting for a GLS 1.8t with manual or automatic (ESP) and no options? From a Northern Virginia dealership, I have a quote for $19,600 (manual) including freight - good?

-Thank you

TDI price by cosmo

I went shopping for a Passat GL with manual transmission and ended up buying a GL TDI wagon with all available options. The dealer wanted $2,400 over sticker. After 5 hours on the lot, the dealer wouldn't budge on the TDI's price, but upped the offer on my trade-in by $2,500. I had researched the value of my trade-in on Edmunds' and Kelly's web sites, and their original offer on my trade-in was actually very fair. Thus, I figure I managed to get the TDI for $100 under sticker price. Nothing to brag about. But, I don't feel like I got the shaft either.

Not sure. All I know is the car sat in their showroom for most of the last year, over 300 days. I drove it and new immediately. I am aware some people had issues with the rotors. We'll see soon.. Anyway we pick it up tomorrow.
Any other W8 owners out there??

2004 GLX Wagon by markman

Greetings,

I just purchased my first Volkswagen on Thursday...a Northern Green GLX wagon. After a lot of research trying to decide what would be a good next car, neither of us like SUV's too much, we decided on a wagon for a couple of reasons. We needed some additional utility in our next vehicle to accomodate our various hobbies (Astronomy, Biking, and Camping primarily) and I something that had a certain amount of "luxury" in it since I am in a business that causes people to, unfortunately, judge me and my ability, by the type of car that I drive. We looked at the Passat, Mazda 6, and Volvo V50. The Mazda had a nice engine but the interior was definitely a level below the other two and the V50 was just too darn expensive as far as I was concerned. The Passat seemed to be "just right". I was able to get the car for $26,300 which I figure was a decent price. I was originally ready to get a Silverstone but when I saw the Northern Green I was sold. So far I love the car. It has enough power and the build quality is very good and the handling is nice. We got the Anthracite interior and it really looks good against the green exterior. My wife who is 5 feet tall, 13 inches shorter than me, has no problem adjusting the seat/steering wheel to her liking. Overall I am very pleased with everyting so far.

2004 Passat 1.8T GLS by bridgeview

I just purchased a 2004 Passat 1.8T GLS Automatic with Leather/wood with MSRP of $27,095 and TMV of $25,269 for $21,999 + tax/fees. They would not budge on giving the $1000 customer loyalty because after 9 years I gave my old Jetta to my brother one month before and no longer had the title in my name. We were not able to use the 0.0% financing at this price, but did use the credit union for 4% financing with nothing down for 60 mos. We bought it from Dirito Brothers in Walnut Creek, CA and the salesman described their dealership as the "Costco" of car sales.

Another dealer tried to make us feel like we were putting them out of business for asking for a price lower than their offer of $24,234 for the same car without the leather package. In fact the salesperson tried to get us to pay sticker until I pulled out the Edmunds printouts. She stated that the information I had from Edmunds on the $2500 dealer incentive was not accurate because it's based on information from "spies." Those spies helped us avoid giving them too much money, so thanks to all you spies out there! I figure we saved $300 (taking into account interest) and got a $1900 package upgrade on top of it.

Does this sound like a good deal at $20995 + tax?
It's way under sticker, am I missing something?

Thanks for any info,
Andy
