My wife and I just purchased a 2004 GLX 4-Motion Wagon, Samoa Red with Beige Leather, for $28,993.00 + TTL.    I was also able to get them to throw in 2 barracuda bike racks and a set of cargo bars on which to mount them, for an additional $200.   By my estimation, I paid approximately $2,000 below dealer invoice, leaving the dealer with a cash profit of approximately $2,050.00 (after factoring in holdback and factory to dealer cash).    Are my calculations right? Was this a good deal?

He said its my call and he acted as if he didn't have the time to waste since its a "TDI". I am sorry people but this CRAP has to stop. I nearly told him you'r lucky I am back here again after my 2001 Jetta gave me SOOOOO much trouble and I am still trying to buy a VW product....all my family are driving Japanese products and have No proplem. Replying to: yodaroni (Sep 23, 2004 4:30 pm) Right on, brother !!! Living in Texas, I can't believe people are paying sticker for the car since diesel has such a bad rap here. When I went to the dealership, they intimated that they would discount the thing by $1000-$1500 bucks.   My belief has been they have limited the production to increase demand for the car. The car is selling around 5,000 to 6,000 dollars more than a 4 cylinder Passat.

I nearly told him you'r lucky I am back here again after my 2001 Jetta gave me SOOOOO much trouble and I am still trying to buy a VW product....   Well, your post just illustrates that they are not "lucky" at all - if they're selling them at sticker and still can't keep them in stock, they don't need your business.   Now, anyone have an experience where they actually purchased the vehicle?   kirstie_h Roving Host & Future Vehicles Host

Purchased for $33,700 + tax&tags. Sticker $41,700 Wes Greenway in Alexandria, Va. Great deal, nice guys. Pick up this weekend. Only issue was front brakes were warped and they are now replacing entire front brake system. Car had 60 miles on it. It sat in the showroom for most of the year. They are making me very happy with the service from the beginning. Rare for a dealership. I would recommend them highly. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE WEEKEND!! What is the lowest price you are getting for a GLS 1.8t with manual or automatic (ESP) and no options? From a Northern Virginia dealership, I have a quote for $19,600 (manual) including freight - good?   -Thank you
