Hello- Quick question about the "Get it or regret it event." I can see from edmunds that there is special financing on remaining 2002's but if you don't opt for the special financing can the dealer get some kind of cash back? According to Tulley VW in Nashua, NH this "event" ends 7/31. Thanks! |

I went and negotiated a new car and I am left with a big decision. I can get the 2002, Passat GLX Sedan with 4 Motion for $300 less invoice. Or I can purchase the same car but a 2003 for $900 over invoice. The overal difference is about $1,470. Something tells me I should go with the 2002, but I feel a bit left behind not buying the 2003. I guess they are the same car. The sales guy was awesome though. We got right down to business and he gave me a fair price right up front. It took all of 15 minutes. Now the big dilemma, do I buy the 2002 or the 2003? Are there any thoughts out there? Jeff |

I e-mailed VW.com and asked them what the "Get it or Regret it" promotion was. They took two days, but said it is a special promotion and you have to go to your local dealer to find out what it is. Well, I went to my local dealer. Asked a number of sales people, sales manager, and even a few customers. NO ONE KNEW WHAT IT WAS...... Not even VW. Just goes to show ya. Jeff |

| Just cut a deal on a 2002 GLS with luxury, leather, & monsoon (5 speed manual) for $23,100 which is a couple of hundred below edmunds invoice. Are the dealers getting cash back or incentives for the 2002 models? It seemed too easy to get the salesman to meet my price so of course I'm skeptical. Any thoughts? | |
| I was in the Atlanta area earlier this week and the VW dealers were advertising $199 lease on Jetta and $21,xxx on Passat. Local VW dealer wouldn't talk about any specials without a meeting. | |

Anyone have these yet? How is $23,100 for a 2003 auto with monsoon stereo? |

| Jpierce26, I hard-lined negotiated and got the 2003 Passat GLX for the same price as the 2002! Go to the VW site, go to dealer locator, put in a search of 200 miles, and start you're negotiating with several dealers. Trust me, they'll work with you. Two guys I recommend: VW Guild or a fella by the name of Mike Henson (Internet Manager) at Ash Tisdell VW in Jacksonville, Fla. Both are great guys and trustworthy. Getting a great, fair deal on a car is better than free oil changes on a bad deal. Let us know how it goes! SELAH! | |

| I purchased a 2002 passat gls in late june with monsoon, luxury, homelink, and weather packages $60 below Edmund's invoice price in the Philadelphia region. There were no incentives, rebates, or holdbacks available when I purchased my car. The dealership had received a shipment that they did not expect in late May. I priced 13 dealerships in the region, and did not find any that would match this deal. | |
| An Oregon dealer just told me there is $1250 dealer cash or low rate financing. This was on a Jetta GLS Sedan. | |
