LOL. Then too, there's also the fees. They're all legit you know: delivery fee, advertising fee, document fee, port prep, SPIF, locate fee. Yes, you pay sales tax on them---but we have have to charge you, sir. They're legit. That ought to get it up to $2-3K |

| We have been looking since March for a Passat Wagon, 1.8T, Manual, Silverstone Grey, Grey Leather, Luxury Package, and Monsoon. Still none in the US and none slated for arrival. Dealer in SoCal can order 2002 with 6-8 weeks delivery for $25,992 ($500 under MSRP). Will throw in homelink and tinting. Includes all fees, except registration, sales tax, and title transfer. Is this a good deal for a factory order? | |
|
Is a Factory Installed option...he cannot *Throw it in*.... |
|
| Harold, no, it's not a great deal. But if you're happy with the dealer it may be worth the extra money. He may "throw in" the homelink by discounting it. As vwguild can testify, this is a factory installed option. | |

First off--this site has some really amazing reviews so thanks already fro providing some solid info and opinions... My dilemma is deciding between buying a 2001.5 Passat v6 probably at the gls trim but maybe with monsoon and moonroof or buying a 2001 Audi a4 w/o the quattro Does anyone have any thoughts on this? which might be the better buy? The way i see it---the a4 is slightly "more sporty" and bit smaller than the Passat which i dont have a problem with however--i am a bit concerned with the idea of more expensive repairs on the A4 or what consumer reports says is a less relaible car (i dont see hwow this is possible being so similar to the passat and the audi vw connection) Any help you can provide on this would be great!! Also:: Do you think it better to try and buy a car before new years or after?? talking aobut the 01's here still and I am ready to buy as they say......thanks! |

| Is it "acceptable" to insist on the TMV price for an 02 passat glx? I was quoted +- 800 over TMV on a car that isn't exactly what I want, and am considering asking the dealer to order what I want iff (if and only if) he'll accept the TMV. | |
| Jeff, make sure the car you want actually exists. It takes just short of forever for VW to produce a special order car. | |
|
that is not true...I order custom built VWs everday of the week...normal delivery 60-75 days out, depending upon where you live... |

Picked up my new 2002 Passat GLX last night. So far (only driven 20 miles so far) I LOVE! the car. It's amazing how comfortable I feel in it. It's the most luxurious car I've ever owned. Here are the details of my purchase: - 2002 Passat GLX - Automatic Tiptronic - Silverstone Grey/Black Price was $29,480.20 (total including taxes & title) Thanks for all the great information shared on this site. |

I guess they didn't like that one because Invoice plus would you mean that you only paid $1626.00 in Tax, Title, & License...Congratulations & Welcome to the VW Family... |
