One dealership in my area is advertising 4K off of MSRP for all Passats. (There were discounts last month on 4Motions everywhere, it seemed.) Can anyone enlighten me on what's new? There must be dealer cash or trunk money or whatever as of 11/1. I'd love to get a couple of dealers to fight for my business. Also, what ARE Eurovans going for these days? Will a subvented lease mean dealer cash on purchases? thanks in advance JOHN in Denver |

| is that for '02 models? that's a pretty big discount. | |

Thanks, cupholder1, I rechecked the newspaper and it is on 2001s that the 4K applies. JOHN |

| then go for it by all means. the car is the same, but the warranty is less. for 4k off MSRP, you can buy an extended warranty and still save big. or just grind 'em until they throw in the extended warranty with the deal. | |

I bought the ONLY remaining non-4MOTION 2001.5 Passat sedan that I could find, which is a Mojave Beige V6 GLS automatic with Monsoon and Winter, no luxury or leather, for 4K below MSRP, which is 22,525. Couldn't get extended warranty thrown in, but got it down to 1095 (from 1495) in the finance office. Also they put a clear bra, a pinstripe (classy, actually) and a handsome tint on all their cars, so had to pay for that too, although not their prices (they wanted 399 for pinstripe, 499 for tint and 299 for bra). Anyway, those of you looking for 2001.5 4MOTIONS at 4K off MSRP, come to Denver, there are many! Mountain States has about 8 as does McDonald Automotive Group. Colors seem to be Candy White, Black, good ol' Mojave Beige (which, I must say, is growing on me), and I saw one dark blue and Colorado red. JOHN |

| I'm addicted to your site and your reviews. They are on the mark. With your info., esp. the technique of blast faxing, I got a written offer from McKenna VW for $28,000 for a 2001.5 Passat GLX 4Motion. It was $1,000 less than any other dealer I had contacted by phone. We literally went there, test drove it, and did the paperwork. No games trying to bump us up because the offer was in writing. | |
| A local dealer is offering this price for: Fresco Green or Silverstone Grey (beige or grey interior)with luxury pkg, monsoon, homelink, no leather. Is this a decent price? | |
|
|
| that's about $200 over dead invoice. that's a good deal. | |
| In negotiating price on a 2002 Passat GLS , can I expect to pay 200-300 over invoice? I am in southern Cal. Any thoughts? | |

I'm considering buying 2002 Passat 1.8T, manual, w/leather & monsoon..finally going to a dealer to test drive and see the colors. Closes dealer only seems to have beige, silver, and grey...but I'm thinking ink blue/beige leather or dark green/beige leather. Ink Blue, as well as the 5-speed manual seems especially difficult to find according to the vw sites local S. Florida inventory. Anyone having the same trouble? Any personal experiences with buying through carsdirect.com...better deal than what the dealer will do directly? |
