How much should I pay over the invoice for a factory order to the dealer? I mean, for a 2002 Passat GLS wagon. How long does it usually to take? Thanks.

You should probably expect to pay a bit more for something that is custom ordered for you...just as you would with a suit or a shirt...What that exact number is will be determined by you and your VW Rep.

Thanks for the info on your message #1341. Unfortunately, the invoice price the dealer quoted me of $28,004 for the 2002 Passat GLX V6 5A (w/o 4 Motion) is BEFORE Destination, Port Prep, etc...the dealer itemized Destination & all other fees in addition to the invoice price. The dealer insists that $28,004 is the BASE invoice. All other invoice prices we discussed with the dealer appeared to be consistent with Edmunds, except this GLX pricing.

He must be using a different Order Guide...Breaks down like this... Base Price 2002 GLX(3B35S5) Tiptronic= $27187.00 Destination= $550.00 Port Prep=$25.00 FloorPlan Interest Res.=$92.00   TOTAL = $27,854.00 MSRP = $30,375.00

gene, I got the passat at burlington vw in burlington, NJ. My salesman was Chris Farnham he was very easy to work with and gave me the best deal in the area on the car I wanted. Call him at 1-888-263-0086

My info matches Jason's..I could see a $28,004 total invoice if he has regional advertising.... But Base invoice?   Miscommunication on his part perhaps??   Bill
