My 8 year old and 5 year old love riding in the 3rd row, and there's plenty of room for them back there. Just know that with 2 kids back there, there's little room for baggage.
Nothing will persuade us to get a minivan - we plan on keeping our V70 for many years to come.

How long is the S60/V70 going to stay in its current model form before a major redesign is due? I know the 2006 models are already on sale, so I'm guessing another two years?

I just bought an XC 70 yesterday and I'm so excited! But I need to hear from Volvo owners about any extended warranties you think are must haves: we were offered an extension of the bumper to bumper for another three years, Zilon that protects paint, leather, and floor mats, and a warranty for tires and rims. Any advice?

I haven't heard of Zilon, but the mop and glow packages are usually wax and something like Scotchgard for the fabrics. They are a big profit center for the dealer and usually it's cheaper to do it yourself.
While waiting for responses, check out the Extended Warranties discussion.
And congrats on the new ride!

Stay away from the mop and glo warranties. They are near useless.
VIP is a very good extended service contract.
Tire and rim coverage is most useful if you have low profile tires.
Replacement tires for any volvo can be quite expensive.

Which dealer are you working with? I am in Portland but that is a much better price than I am getting and it would be worth going to Seattle for a big savings.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. Sorry for my ignorance, but do I have low profile tires on the new xc 70? I'm not sure what that means.

Low profile tires are tires without a lot of sidewall between the edge of the rim and the ground...like most sports cars (or Volvo's R models.) An XC70 would not fit in this category.
