Hi - I'm looking at a yellow Ralliart wagon and was hoping for some updated discussion on this vehicle. Thanks!

It has been resurrected
keep in mind, a lack of activity will send it back into the abyss...

#65 of 92 Saturn LW 200 fuel pump
by mball
Aug 13, 2004 (7:41 am)
I recently bought a used 2003 LW 200 wagon with ECOTEC 4 cylinder with 64K miles for business. While the gas mileage has been less than expected, avg. 23-24 mpg., generally the car is comfortable and accomodates anything I need to put in it. After driving it less than 500 miles, the "check engine" light lit up. According to Saturn, the problem could have been just a faulty gas filler cap because the light went on and off over the course of the next few weeks. I drive a lot on business, and scheduling a service time was not an option until the end of the month. Now, at 71K miles, I need to replace a fuel pump. No big deal usually in most cars, but on the LW 200, it necessitates removal of the fuel tank, part of the exhaust, and part of the rear suspension, approximately $160 + tax in labor alone at my local mechanic. Add to that the cost of a Dealer Only fuel pump at $302, and I am now faced with a $600 + repair, not to mention the $93 towing bill that the fuel pump failure caused by stranding me in the middle of nowhere 45 miles from home. With only a 3 yr/36K total warranty on the vehicle, anyone considering this car who drives more than 12K a year should take the extended warranty, irregardless. A fuel pump replacement alone is more than the cost of the extended warranty.

Hi mball - since this is the "Lost in Town Hall" discussion, I assume you're looking for an appropriate discussion. You might try our Saturn Problems topic if you want to talk to other owners.

. . . . so think it's time to reopen a V50 thread.
Just scanned the "old" s40... and v50 archived threads and found them out of date.
I leave it to hosts to decide what goes where, but please let me know, as after I take delivery in Sweden in October may have some war stories.
Cheers H

by johnbell2

I would like to examine any discussions of points to consider in purchasing a used Volvo 850 wagon or V70 wagon. Which would be the better used vehicle to buy and why?
