Suspension Fixed by moses5
Mar 07, 2000 (11:54 pm)
I just got my car back from the Service center. As I stated in an earlier post, my suspension seemed to make noise and the left side of the car seemed uneven. Well they fixed it. It seems the rear spring got out of alignment. They repositioned them. Also, there was a recall on an injector pressure sensor. They fixed it while in shop. Most likely they may fix all of your injectors when you go in for service. I must say I had a good experience.

AWD by hatchqueen

I keep hearing rumors regarding a highperformance all wheel drive version to debut in europe then possibly make the jump over here. Of course in my optimism, it'll be offered on the zx3 model. Its my understanding that AWD is somewhat different then traditional 4 wheel drive.

4wd? Awd? by silver_bullet
Mar 08, 2000 (12:14 am)
Hatchqueen, assuming a vehicle has four wheels, 4wd and awd are the same thing. What differs is whether a particular vehicle has a transfer case and offers low and high range gearing (like a Jeep, for example), or if the vehicle has multiple differentials (or some other method for splitting the torque between front and rear) but no separate low range gearing. In both cases, all of the wheels are (or can be) driven, hence "awd".

Dome Light? by pcleveland2
Mar 08, 2000 (2:10 am)
cefurod,
Haven't taken it out yet, but I don't get what you are talking about when you say "wedge" shape.
Are you talking about the light cover or the bulb? All the bulb spec's and bulb #'s are in the owners manual. Or are you talking about map lights. I haven't seen them yet. Am going to look when I go in for service. Want to see if I can do a swap if the dome/map light is the same as the dome light like somebody said it was. Why blue?

Coupe or Hatchback by pcleveland2
Mar 08, 2000 (3:00 am)
Carlady,
Why is this topic under Hatchback when the ZX3 was awarded "Sport Coupe of the Year" by Canadian Journalists?

Anybody know, is it a Hatchback or a Sport Coupe?

uno, dos, tres..it's a 3 door focus. Anyone else hear those anoying focus commercials on the radio? Coupe = 2 door, hatchback refers to the trunk, so I'd say its a coupe. Whats the difference?

Dome Lamp by alf3

Pat - I ordered the ZTS combo dome lamp/map light from my dealer about a week ago. I assume it's going to fit - and assume that the wiring harness is the same. Guess we'll see for certain once I receive it. Ford's part number is YS4Z-13776-AA (that's what is scribbled on the order form anyway!) Cost is $24.

Hatch by alf3

The Euro literature refers to the Focus as a hatchback. Traditionally, a Coupe was a 2-door, pillarless automobile - no pillar between the front door glass and the back glass. IMHO, our ZX3s are hatchbacks.

Hot Focus and parts by ragtop99
Mar 08, 2000 (5:37 am)
The Chicago Tribune had a blurb about the Focus. Ford has raised line speed to 74 cars an hours from 65 to get 35,000 more cars for the year. They're running at maximum capacity with overtime. In it's 1st three months Focus has gone from nothing to being the number 2 small car seller behind the Civic. Focus is at 95% of Civic sales. The article said Ford has 190,000 orders in the U.S. and 75,000 in Canada. Don't know if that means total orders for the model year or what.
This is great for Ford and people that want the car but for those of you waiting for parts this isn't good. If Ford's suppliers don't keep up with demand the wait could be really long (as some of you are all to aware). It seems that all spare parts are going to build new cars. Obviously Ford did not expect this kind of success and those with repair problems are the ones to suffer. Ford's priority should be to get you folks back on the road and to keep you happy but they have to keep selling cars to fill the stock holders pockets. This is the short sighted approach most manufacturers take today.

Maybe those needing parts should write a joint letter. 2 months waiting is nuts. I would have created a scene in the showroom long ago. Demand a loaner. See a lawyer. Good luck.
