#202 of 206 Ingtonge18, there is no power actuator in my lanos. by jkot

Ingtonge18, I though I might have missed something, so I did as you suggested. And as I thought, there is no actuator in the drivers side door. Only the Passenger door has a power lock. My lanos is a 2001 Sport. Maybe the 2000 and ealier models had them in both doors? I also asked the dealer because I would like to put on "keyless" entry. The also stated I would need to have the selonoid installed on the drivers side.

So anyone interested in the Lanos Sport, there is only a power lock solenoid on the passenger side of the car. (you can lock and unlock the passenger door from the drivers side, not vice - versa)

Aside from this minor technicality, the car is still Great! I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Rather than change the title of this discussion to remove the "don't believe Edmunds", I created a new Daewoo Lanos discussion where owners can have to opportunity to discuss this vehicle with a more positive approach.

Anyone game? Here's the direct link to: Daewoo Lanos (pricing & information).

jkot & others- Feel free to copy/paste your recent messages over there.

#204 of 206 THANK GOD by kate8779

I was so close to buying a 2000 Daewoo Lanos last year. Thank god I held out until I saw a 1997 Toyota Corolla. I bought my DX model, fully loaded for $8,000 with 40,000 miles on it. I am so happy I did not buy that Lanos piece of junk. I too was attracted to the Lanos because it was new and inexpensive. I came to my senses when I realized it was a piece of tin. Two of my friends bought this vehicle, they have nothing but problems. If something as simple as the seat not staying in place cannot be fixed, can you imagine what is going on under the hood? Thank God for Toyota!
