I just bought a '05 Dakota SLT Quad Cab and have the same problem. Did the baffle trick fix it? If so, what is the dealers name so I can contact them for the fix.
Thanks

Emissions Harness by anspro

I just brought my Dodge Dakota truck in because the engine light was on. I was told that the Emissions Harness was bent and the harness had gone bad. A friend of mine suggested that I see if this might still be under warranty. Does anyone know how I can find this information out? It's just a plain Dodge Dakota truck (My baby truck) 5-speed, 2001 with 55517 miles on it.

Thanks for the help.

By the way Hello to everyone. I am a new member and wanted to introduce myself and my baby truck.

I've had him for a little over a year and I love him He's a 2001 Dodge Dakota, 5- speed and the best mode of transportation (other than my Honda 750) I have ever had.

Me, just a lady who finally got her dream truck (for now anyway) and is a very happy woman.

Thanks,

A list of the emissions components that are under warranty was supplied documentation to the original purchaser of your vehicle. If you got an owner's manual, this document (a small booklette, actually) is hopefully with it. If not, any Dodge dealer can inform you of what is covered.

Just my guess, but something tells me that any electrical harness will not be covered, unless you can make a good case that the failure was due to a manufacturing defect or error in assembly.

Best regards,
Dusty

Thank you so much. I am pretty ignorant of these things and I have checked. The harness was crimped but they don't know how.

The dealer I brought it to said it's pretty uncommon because of the way it happened. Anyway I do have to pay for it and hopefully it will last a few years.

Thanks again,

Try connecting together the wires that go to the fuel sender (at the tank) If the gauge does not move and the light does not go out... you have a wiring problem...not a fuel-sender problem

2001 quad. 4.7l -3.92lsd rear. by dodgetrukn

Almost 70k miles, now I hear a whine from the rear end direction.. Checked the rear diff for synthetic fluid levels as is fine and even looks/feels fine .. Don't feel any wobble at any certain speeds but definite whine. Anyone have something similar after all these miles? Wondering how many folks might have had to change their u-joints at 70k?? The whine increases in loudness as I drive faster..I used to remember when u-joints wore out on my older vehicles that you would feel the vehicle shake at a consistent speed..45-50mph.. Seemed to notice that this noise just started about a day or 2 ago..Any background help is appreciated as I am leaning towards getting the u-joints looked at and/or replaced..or jack it up myself and see if the driveshaft feels loose.. I dont get any banging in gears although it would seem less with a manual then an automatic trans.. bahhhh
Thanks, Ger

Ger, I had some noise emanating from the rear axle in my 2000 4WD w/3.55. It turned out to be the side thrust bearing in the axle/differential. They were replaced and it is fine now.
